When light floods into my eyes I realize that Harry never said what kept him up. When I finally went up to go to bed last night, I still tossed and turned persistently before I fell asleep. In turn I did not wake up in a happy mood. I forced my legs to drop to the floor and got up knowing that getting up was unavoidable. I rubbed my eyes and started dragging myself to my trunk. I bent down, opening the aged and worn trunk to grab my robes. I bounce back up and look around the dorm. Despite my lack of sleep I've somehow woken up before anyone else. More hot shower water for me. Growing up with five brothers makes you thankful for that fact. I quickly tiptoed to the bathroom door and silently closed it. Thank Merlin I have a moment to myself.

There's a mess of girls getting ready in the bathroom and I'm just glad I could get myself out of there before the crowd of them came in. There's a buzz of noise just like at home and it makes me all fuzzy. It reminds me of the many arguments over the shower at home. It was a constant state of who will get in first.

I slipped away from the mess of my dorm and when I started going down the stairs for some breakfast I saw Ron.

"Ronald Weasley you missed my sorting!" He whirls around and instantly knew it was me who called him out. He looks embarrassed? I mean I did just call him out in the common room but that's not it. It's not his usual 'my bad' embarrassment, it's something different.

"Ella, not now." My face must look bewildered because Harry nudges Ron. He whispers something in his ear then me and Ron are suddenly moving out the common room into a secluded space.

"You can't just announce stuff like that, it's embarrassing!" I scoff, it does not make Ron amused.

"That's honestly all you have to say to me, that I'm embarrassing? You miss a moment that I was excited to share with my big brother, but instead you and Harry decided to be idiots and drive dad's flying car. Do you get how bloody pissed mum is going to be?" He turns shy and uncomfortable at my rant, his face turns into an awkward smile.

"I'm sorry I missed it, I'd love to know about the sorting and all that though." His apology is strained and nonchalant, but against my better judgment I accept it. Quickly me and Ron are walking side by side while I talk the entire time on how nerve racking my first day was. I leave out key details, for example, the fight I had with Gin and Hermione, anything with the Slytherins, and Harry.

The argument was completely me just being stressed for no need. The Slytherins, well let's just say Ron is the opposite of a snake lover. And Harry I'm not quite sure what's going on myself. We've had like 3 interactions and all of them have been so, sudden, and out of nowhere. I know Ron, if he found out he would turn into a lunatic.

It's not long until Ron and I found ourselves at the Gryffindor dining table. From what Ron told me we get our school schedules. In front of me was Harry with Hermione next to him. Soon the three of them were deep in conversation and in turn I was looking around the table and when I did I found Gin staring at me. I feel like a shit sister right then and there. I left her up there and never gave it a second thought. I'm gonna have to apologize later.

"Oi Harry, look at my schedule!" Harry's head snaps over to the parchment in Ron's hand, reminding me that I still have to look at mine. My schedule is quite boring with it all having my core classes like Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, etc. potions being first. Great, from Ron's description Snape is going to hate me.

"I start the day with potions." When I spoke Ron then decided to look over at my schedule, he let out an exasperated sound.

"And with the Slytherins, bloody hell, that's not a good way to start out your day." Ron says it so casually it honestly makes me wonder why he hates them so much. Before I can really think about it, food pops in-front of us and suddenly every conversation gets cut short.
