The whole school now knew of her singing breakout and wanted to speak to her.
The only people she could go to Hermione, Ginny and Cedric.
She was walking with Cedric when she heard her parchment buzz.
"What is that?" Cedric asked.
"Oh it's nothing. Um I have to go right now I'll see you in 5 minutes." Emma said running away as fast as she could.
What do you want? Emma wrote on the parchment that Draco had in his possession.
I just want to get to know you and I want to gain your trust. Draco wrote with his neat script.
Fine. Emma wrote with her untidy scrawl then started from the beginning.
In the first year when we came to Hogwarts for the first time, Harry was getting all the attention and I was the girl on the side that no one cares about. Except you of course. Then Harry got into the quidditch team. I was so mad. For that whole time I was practicing for keeper but Harry is always the favored one. I was fuming and I went into my dormitory crying. When the second year came, I was still very sad about the whole thing. Then the second year came and Ginny came to Hogwarts. I thought I would actually like that year because Ginny was such a good friend. But she was always obsessed with Harry. Then the whole diary that your father gave Ginny! I haven't forgiven you for that but whatever I know it wasn't your fault. Then the third year was the worst so far. Harry was so obsessed with this Sirius Black and kept talking about him. And Lupin came, he was probably the best defense against the dark arts teacher we had. Lupin taught Harry to produce a Patronus. A thing that almost no one knows that i self taught myself to produce a Patronus. It is a Saint Bernard. The whole shrieking shack thing happened and then Harry and me found out that Sirius was our godfather. Sirius gave Harry an enchanted parchment like this one but didn't even glance at me. I cried so much that night. And then after that whole affair with the dark mark and then the whole triwizard tournament problem is just spinning my head around and around. Emma finished and dropped the quill into the ink bottle and started massaging her hand.
Oh no that must be so hard to deal with. Well you still have me and I will listen to you for as much time as you need me too. Draco wrote.
Thanks for all of that I really needed to get that off my chest. Emma wrote. Well I need to go but I'll talk to you later Draco.
Okay! Bye.
Emma folded the parchment carefully and ran back to meet Cedric.
"Sorry I just needed to do something!" Emma said running to his side.
"Oh don't worry about it." Cedric said a bit too quickly. Emma gave him a quizzical look. He pretended to not notice and just kept on walking.
"So, what was that buzzing sound," Cedric asked as they were walking to the quidditch pitch.
"It was nothing. Don't worry about it."
"No tell me." Cedric said with a firm but kind voice.
"It's nothing Cedric" Emma said.
"Okay fine." Cedric saud, clearly not trying to start an argument
They got to the quidditch pitch and started playing quidditch as usual. But what they didnt know is that an unwanted visitor was already at the quidditch pitch flying alone.
It was Draco Malfoy.
"Oh hey Draco!" Emma yelled at his direction.
Draco noticed her, gave her a fleeting smile, then flew down to meet her.
"Hi, Emma! Hello, Cedric." He said holding out a hand. Cedric grasped it very quickly but politely and nodded as if saying hello. His eyes were confused, staring at Draco in disbelief.
"Cedric, do you mind if Draco joins us for our quidditch today? He's a friend of mine." Emma said, interrupting his deep thinking.
"Oh, yeah I have no problem with it." Cedric said closing his eyes for a few seconds before continuing, "Won't Harry be upset that you're with Draco?"
"That's why we intend to keep it a secret." Emma said, winking at the both of them.
Both of them had an unfamiliar feeling in their stomachs. They were confused what it was, but ignored it, thinking that it was nothing.
Only if they knew what it really was.
~~~~~
They had been playing for quite a bit of time, and everyone was getting worried.
"Where is Emma?" Hermione asked Harry. "I would have thought she was with you."
"No she isn't." Harry said, feeling very bad that he wasn't worried about her until this moment. "I'll go look for her.
Harry ran out to the Quidditch pitch immedeatly, since he knew the quidditch pitch was her happy place.
When he got to the quidditch pitch, his heart fell and shattered when he saw emma joking around with Draco Malfoy, his mortal enemy.
How could she? She knows about my history with Malfoy.
He was walking away with a tear on his face when Emma noticed him walking away. "Harry wait!" Emma shouted at him.
"Why are you with Malfoy? You know that he is my mortal enemy!" Harry yelled at her.
"Why can't I have my own friends Harry? Just because you don't like him doesn't mean that I can't be friends with him!"
"But why? I've been here also!"
"Oh really Harry? The only thing you've been doing these past few months is writing to Sirius! What about me?"
Harry couldn't answer and just walked away furiously. Emma walked the other way since she wanted a walk to clear her mind.
Emma gave a sad wave to the both of them and went to start her walk.
She was walking when she felt extremely cold and as if her thoughts have been getting more and more depressing.
That's when she heard it.
