Chapter 21

Pickle and 2B were making their way to the desert. Soon the ruin of the city was left behind and the two looked at a sand-covered land. They made their way from the valley, they met someone named Jackass who requested the two take out a group of machines that blocked the path. It was a breeze with Pickle's strength and 2B's speed. The two made their way out of the valley and into the open desert. 

Pickle hummed catching 2B's attention.

2B: What is it?

Pickle: You don't feel that?

2B: Feel what?

Pickle: The machines below the sand.

2B went on guard and the Pod brought its weapons out. As if on cue a group of chubbies popped out of the sand. Pickle raised an eyebrow seeing their wooden masks and capes. The two destroyed the chubbies with ease. Pickle picked up a half-destroyed wooden mask and looked at it.

2B: What is that?

Pickle: A wooden mask.

Pod: Conclusion. The machines are intimidating humans from their database.

2B: Will it be a problem for the mission?

Pod/Pickle: Negative/Nope.

2B: Let's proceed.

The two travelled the dunes coming across more chubbies with masks and capes. Pickle noticed something.

Pickle: Are you sweating? I thought Androids did not sweat.

2B: It is a new function that was added to us. It is a new cooling system that is a replica of the human cooling system. 

Pickle: I see. 

Pickle moved his hand behind him and brought out a water bottle. He handed the bottle to 2B.

Pickle: Here. You'll need this.

2B: Andriods do not substance-

Pickle: It is for you to survive to make sure that your body keeps its temp in control. This new function overlooked a major flaw that it carried. When humans sweat they lose water so they need to keep rehydrating. You don't have an infinite supply of water built in you, so you are going to rehydrate to keep functioning.

2B said nothing as Pickle made a clear point. She accepted the bottle of water. She was about to drink it in one go however Pickle stopped her.

Pickle: Take only a sip or else having water inside you will slow you down.

2B did as she was told only taking a sip. Pickled stored the water bottle away as 2B questioned him.

2B: How are you not feeling the heat?

Pickle: My armour has microscopic holes that allow circulation of air throughout the armour without having to sacrifice its functionality. 

2B nodded seeing that he was perfectly fine in his own words. So the two continued taking down groups and groups of chubbies. However, Pickle noticed that 2B was sweating a lot to keep her body functioning. That wouldn't be a problem however her sweat made some parts of her clothes very revealing. 

Pickle looked up and saw the sun going down.

Pickle: We stop here.

2B looked at him confused.

2B: Why? Are you tired if so then we can stop here.

Pickle: No. I am not tired but it will be night soon. It is not safe to travel in the dark where the machines have a better chance of getting a drop on us.
