A Generation Chronically Online

It's hard to know what's true and what's false,
In this world that demands our fingers on the pulse
Of half-truths and misinformation. Which way do we turn?
Trust our eyes or trust our guts?
There's so much to learn.

Dodgy clicks at every turn,
Least there are no CDs left to burn.
A format left behind in relative obscurity,
Or not quite yet; a familiar memory.
My laptop doesn't even have a CD drive!

DK Games and How It's Made,
Scarred by Zoo Vet and made my Neopets.
Isn't this a funny generation?
Made by discs and fast outliving them.

EduWeb and Cool Math Games,
Flash made the Internet playable.
Explorable, at last!
The world at our fingertips.

Skype calls 'cross the globe at 3am,
Dreaming of visits from 'pen pals'.
Not that any pens were involved.
Instead, letters clicking and clacking along,
But quietly now! You'll wake dad up.

Animal Crossing in the wee hours of the night,
Trying to be deceptive with the 3DS' light.
Obscured by pillows, hidden under the duvet,
"That was me!"
That's what we all say.
