🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞RAVEEN'S POV 🌞🌞🌞👑
I put the phone in my pocket and buckled my seatbelt, which I normally never do... but this was a matter of pleasure, or more pleasure...
As I cruised down the street, I couldn’t shake the thoughts swirling in my mind. Had Maya forgiven me for everything? All the things I had done? The way I had been—cold, distant, then suddenly... here I was, vulnerable, wanting her back in ways that scared me.My grip tightened on the wheel as I remembered how hard it had been, pushing her away, thinking it was for the best when all it really did was make my world feel emptier. I’d pushed, pulled, and tested her, but now? I wasn’t sure anymore.
I got to the shop and saw the buckets of roses, carefully scanning them to see if the blue roses were still available as I got closer to the parking spot near the flower shop.
I didn't see any blue roses, and I thought maybe they just kept them inside because they were sensitive to light or temperature... or some other reason. I never thought about getting flowers, let alone for anyone...
"Hi, excuse me? Do you have blue roses? I just saw your website and was hoping you still had them."
"Hello, dear!" the little old lady politely replied. "The last bouquet of blue roses is actually finished, I think," she said in a sad, low tone.
"But I can give you these," she said happily as she bent down and took a huge bouquet that would probably cost me a fortune...
"Yes, I'll take them!" I said without hesitation. After making the payment, I put the flowers back in my passenger seat and buckled them in. I didn't want them running away.
...I'm tired, so we're skipping this part...
I got home just in time to shower, do my hair, and pick Maya up.
....
Maya had always been my weakness. She’d always been the one to make me question every move I made. Every harsh word I said. Every selfish decision. The thought of losing her, of her not forgiving me, was a weight I couldn't carry.I turned a corner, the city lights flashing outside the windows, but they didn’t brighten the thoughts crowding my mind. My phone buzzed in the passenger seat, but I ignored it—still lost in my head, still wondering if this would work out, if we would work out.
I glanced at the time, realizing I’d promised to pick her up soon. But first, I needed to prepare myself. I needed to be the Raveen who deserved her, the one who could give Maya what she wanted. What she deserved. I needed her to understand that things were different now.
I got in the shower, got out, and put on some nice cargo shorts and my big black tee with a white beanie. I also wore that cologne I know she likes.I didn't have time to do everything, so I texted Aaron to come over with his annoying but adorable little girlfriend and set up the room for me while I went to pick her up.
I rushed downstairs, grabbed my socks from my hoodie... yeah, I didn't want to trip running down the stairs...
I couldn't decide what shoes to wear, so I just grabbed my black Converse. I cleaned my car and tidied her seat. I even got a knitted pink cuff for the seatbelt with her name on it... Damn, what did this little brat do to me? I hate it... but I love everything about it.
7:55 pm
I was already out in the driveway. I wanted to take the long route so I could get there while she was still getting ready. I didn't want her rushing. So I drove slowly, smoking and drinking my favorite iced mint, honey, and lemongrass water... so good.
8:19 pm...
I rolled up to her driveway and changed the LED light of my car to red. I might have gotten a black-on-black matte Hellcat, and no one knew. I got out and called her...
