I sat back and watched how Damon approached the Ivàn kid slowly. He inspected the kid, before supporting the kids full body weight as they walked to the staircase.
"Hope you enjoyed your stay!" I twinkled my fingers in the air at them as they passed.
"Bitch." The messenger said, thinking I couldn't hear him. I could. I chose not to say anything though.
"That was your first time holding a hostage, how'd you like it?" I turned to Alberto where he was sitting on the chair again.
"Kind of boring. He didn't even try to keep the conversation going." Alberto scoffed like that was the worst thing ever. Oh boy.
"They'll get better, don't worry." I patted his shoulder, then made my way up stairs. The cellar was usually the best place to keep hostages since it was secluded, and it was scary to new comers.

"Miss Salazar, is that project of yours and Juan's going to be done soon?" I looked up from my phone to see Mr. Roberts standing by my desk, arms crossed.
It's been a couple weeks since the 2 major deals and everything was sort of slow. Nothing incredibly exciting has happened nor anything important.
"What will help you sleep better at night Roberts?" My attention returned to my phone, even though Juan and I have had plenty of time to do the History project, I didn't want to do it.
"Do I need to see you two after school to make sure you get it done?" Mr. Roberts was defiantly a pain in my ass.
"No Señor. Jezebel and I will have it completed on time." Juan finally cut in.
I shot him a look before going back to my phone. Fuck that.
"That's what I like to hear." Roberts finally left to go bug someone else, believing that Juan was telling the truth. If I had said that he wouldn't have believed me at all.
"I've been having the newbies work on our project. Told them it was an important step towards becoming a good member." Juan explained before I could ask. Smart.

"Are you being serious right now?" Raúl asked in disbelief.
I invited two of the newbies, Raúl and Esteban, into the meeting room because I had an important announcement. They were both really excited, thinking I was sending them to off someone. What I actually wanted them for was completely different and they'd rather kill someone than do what I've asked.
"Yes I am, your guys' burns are fully healed." I lit a cigarette, waiting for them to respond.
"But what if he attacks us? Or we lose him?" Esteban spoke up.
The two boys both looked scared. Terrified even. 'Babysitting' Boomer was a big responsibility. If anything happened to him during their care I would make their life hell.
"Just be careful with him, he attacks only when threatened. And keep him on his leash when you're out walking, but he usually doesn't run away from people." I crossed my legs and picked off imaginary lint from my jeans.
"Will we be thrown out of the Family if something goes wrong?" Raúl had gotten over is initial reaction and his brown eyes now had a tint of excitement in them.
"I wouldn't throw you guys out! You've already been tatted and have the burn. Just life in the Family will be harder. I don't allow bad things to happen to my baby. Just be aware of that." I dismissed them with a wave of my hand. I still had some paper to go over. Who knew being Queen meant so much paper work? You'd think everyone would be too scared to write things on paper, but nope. We all just had to make sure we burned it afterwards.
