Wayne's POV
It had only been half an hour, and she was already napping. She must have been really tired judging from her light snores. I have to say it was the first time we were ever alone together with no conversation. I kept stealing glances at her, and it made me wonder why. Maybe I've grown fond of her.
To be totally honest ever since we talked way back when she was in the hospital I've felt...different. I like to keep to myself most of the time and withdrawn from people. It has always been that way, so it is quite strange that I anticipated that we might have a conversation with her. She was quite frankly humorous and her face wore different expressions when she describes a happy or sad event that occurred to her.
I wouldn't say I was disappointed that it did not happen, she was my assistant after all and its best to keep things as formal as possible. Maybe I am just telling myself that.
On contrary matters, I had to focus on the current tasks ahead of me. Hillary said she would meet us at the resort so we could start planning on how exactly we were going to succeed in convincing my father to sell his shares. I am sure with the wedding taking place it would be difficult to have time alone with him. It's best to be prepared. It is a long shot, might actually be my only shot and this drew the idea of actually selling the company to Hillary. I was afraid she was right about the company slowly crumbling down.
The driver announced that we shall be arriving in a few minutes' time. I looked over to her and she seemed to be in a deep sleep. We would alight soon so waking her up is seemingly inevitable. I reached out my hand to tap her shoulder and before I could she leaned towards the right landing on my shoulder. It was quite the impact but she was still subconscious. Her long curly hair almost covered my face. I tried to put her back into her previous posture but once again she ended up on me.
"Mrs. Harris." I quietly called and gently shook her.
Nothing.
"Mrs. Harris. " I again called out to her and this time she made slight movements, I could see she was beginning to awake.
"Mrs. Harris." This time, she shot up almost immediately and quite frankly she gave me a fright. She tried putting away the hair on her face and laid it on her back. Her eyes were puffy and she looked kind of drowsy.
" oh my gosh how long was I asleep? I am so sorry sir I know you said I shouldn't be taking unnecessary naps because the last time that happened it...umm didn't end well so just to be clear this wasn't on purpose and I totally get if you want to f.."
" it's fine Mrs. Harris, just wanted you to know we would be arriving soon. " I swear if I didn't chime in she would have never stopped apologising.
" Thank you sir, I promise this is the last time this will ever happen." She said and i could see she was sincere. I couldn't help but recall when I made Moris dump cold water on her. It was mean. I am not that kind of person and I felt the need to apologise. It made me feel guilty . I don't like to feel guilty.
" If I may ask why are you so exhausted?" I was not going to apologise right away so I just tried to engage in a little small talk, test my social skills if there are any left.
" Well I kind of stayed up all night with my boyfriend yesterday. "
"Oh." I exclaimed suggestively. I was surprised she would share her romantic life with me.
"No..not like that we were watching a movie marathon. He insisted we had to before I left."
She tried to explain.
I don't know why that was a relief to me but it was. Probably because I wanted to avoid the awkward conversation about it."Right." I briefly replied. I didn't know how to continue. Being conversant with people especially women is not exactly where I shine. I've had struggles with socializing for the longest of time and now I think it had caught up with me.
Silence.
Even more silence.
Getting awkward now.
Didn't the driver say we were almost arriving what was taking so long.
" Sir, ma,am...we are here." Oh thank goodness.
And to think I actually wanted our conversation to be longer. A shame it was over before it even began. We got off the car and walked together to the main entrance while the driver proceeded to parking the car.
When we got in I was actually very impressed. The lobby was large and very appealing. It had a circular fountain in the middle and two huge palm trees at each side. The whole thing was practically dome shaped and had a glass ceiling fitted with little squares that allowed in light into the lobby. There were protruding semicircular balconies also at each side quite nice for taking photographs. A place like this must have cost a fortune which makes me wonder who exactly my father us marrying.

" Mr.Hamelton." I heard someone call out to me
. It was Hillary. I wasn't expecting to see her till later. She came over to me and her heels made click sounds on the floor. She looked ravishing despite wearing the simplest of outfit; a white blouse with long sleeves and brown pants. Jm not sure wat the ladies call them but they are all pants. Her hair was up in a pony tail and i could clearly see the outline of her face.

" It's so nice to see you again." She said still wearing a smile.
" Likewise. You are here early." I pointed out.
" Well you know wat they say, if you are not early, you're late." She turned to face her and I could see her smile wore down.
" This is Mrs. Harris." I start, " My assistant. "
She reached out her hand to her and they exchanged casualities. Mrs.Harrus excused herself to make a call and Hillary and I proceeded to one of cafés to discuss business. If I knew any better j would have concluded that I am intimidated by Hillary's looks. She was stunning and she knew it.
