I'm in my room, sitting at my desk, as I try to get the last bit of Valentine's out. I have been working on them every time I have a free class, but with the closing time being at five o'clock, everyone was sending in their last ones. I'm still slightly laughing at the fact that people were still using my website; I mean, I didn't think it would work.
I didn't think people would actually send in a telegraph for five dollars, but it was amazing to see how far some people go just to follow in with the school spirit. The Valentine's Day aura was really good this year, and I'm still happy with how I spent my day. It was a school day, and yet I had a lot of fun.
Mason and I had kissed a lot today, which was already a bonus.
"Thea," I hear a voice whine from on my bed and shake my head. I've been pressing to send it so many times now that I'm starting to get anxious. I wouldn't be angsty if there wasn't a guy on my bed waiting for me to finish. "Hurry up," he stresses, and I turn my head to him and scowl.
"One day," I say to him. "We have been a thing for one day, and you are already obsessed with me."
"Oh, please," Mason says with a large grin. "I have been obsessed with you ever since you walked down those stairs and decided to approach me that one afternoon, babe."
Babe.
Because Mason and I were casual like that. He had been casual in the way he had been kissing me, in the way he had been giving me hearts, and in the way he had started to use nicknames with me. I liked it a lot.
"Yeah?" I ask him with a smile when I hear his sentence now.
"Yeah," he confirms. "As soon as I knew that you made my heart skip a beat, I knew I was going to fall for you."
"Okay, settle down, lover boy," I say, and I'm deflecting. I turn back in my seat, my cheeks heating up really badly. I loved Mason's words, and alone in a room with him, his Ranger side comes out, and I'm left blushing. He seems so confident with me, yet I am still shy.
We were the opposites.
I seemed to love teasing Mason in public, and Mason is more quiet and well reserved in public. While Mason was more confident with me in private, I seemed to be more shy. It was funny how that worked, but I did like it. It made our relationship interesting.
"Aren't you supposed to be at work?" I tell him as I continue to send out the Valentine's. There were only a few left, and as much as I loved to sneeze these out, I had a boy waiting for me to show him attention.
"Yeah, but I took the day off," Mason answered from behind me.
I tilt my head to the side and say, "Why?"
"There was a girl who once told me to try and enjoy life, that if I don't, it will pass by quickly," Mason says from behind me, his voice coming closer. He slips a hand behind my neck, moving it toward my shoulder now. "And besides, it's my first day with a girl; I'd love to take her out."
"You want to take me out?" I whisper.
"Valentine's Day," Mason murmurs in my ear, his mouth grazing just to the rop of it, but enough to send my body wanting to curl in on itself. "You deserve a date."
"I'd love a date," I answer back and then say, "But I have to get this done."
Mason squeezes my shoulder and says, "Well, go on. Tell me what it says."
"Tell you what it says." I trailed off when I found that the last telegraph was addressed to me. I had finally gotten a Valentine, and my eyes moved to read it to myself.
