STARING AT THE RAINDROPS AS THEY RACE DOWN THE WINDOW. Dylan sat in the backseat of her dad's cruiser, on the way to her childhood home in Forks Washington. She was happy to be finally back, she wasn't a fan of the constant heat in Arizona.

Everything was still the same in Forks. The population hasn't grown that much since the last time she was here. She missed it. The ocean, the woods, the smell of the rain. All the things she left behind, are now in front of her.

A smile makes its way to her face as she sees the restaurant Bella and she used to go to every day with Charlie. It looked the same, it never changed, frozen in time was just how she liked it. The car stops at a red light, where Dylan moves her focus towards their father, Charlie. He wasn't an overbearing dad, he gave space to his daughters, but that didn't mean he wasn't protective of them.

Being the chief of police, he made sure his daughters were aware of the crimes and incidents. Which made Dylan more cautious of her surroundings, especially the woods.

It wasn't always like that though, She always ran through it when she was younger, with her childhood best friend Jacob Black. They had always gone through mini adventures when she visited. Swimming in rivers, hanging out with him at his house and out in the woods. When Jacob's dad, Billy, found out about them venturing into the gloomy forests. He was worried about their safety and lectured them both about the dangers that were lurking around.

Since then Dylan stopped, the fear slowly building up as she avoided the woods behind her house. Always felt a constant chill run through her, every time she saw it. That was years ago, and though it wasn't as strong as it was before, she still didn't feel it was safe to walk in.

" Your hair's longer" The voice of her dad, strayed Dylan from her thoughts. Looking to see him trying to make small talk to Bella.

" Hmm, cut it since the last time I saw you" She informed him while touching the tips of her curled hair.

" Oh," Charlie sighed, it was silent for a second before glancing at her, " Guess it grew out again."

Dylan chuckled at the awkwardness from both of them while playing with the sleeve of her jacket. " I see that you have gotten taller Dylan"

Charlie looks through the reviewed mirror as he presses the gas. Catching the look, his daughter gave him. " Dad not this again, you know I'm staying at this height for the rest of my life" She whined, slumping in her seat.

"But Bella was shorter than you, from what I could remember" Charlie recalled, thinking from the time he last saw them.

Dylan eyed Bella as she leaned forward, " Well she caught up to me, hey how come you're in front, even when I called shotgun?" Dylan asked the quiet girl, who shrugged, taking a small glance over her shoulder.
