──•~❉᯽❉~•──"I JUST CAN'T GET OVER HOW GROWN UP YOU TWO ARE." Cora, the waitress serves the twins their plates, giving a big smile to them. "And so beautiful." She compliments and puts down Charlie's plate.
It was after school and Dylan was thrilled to be eating back at the cafe when the three of them used to have dinner, every day. She couldn't wait to eat and catch up with Charlie on how their day was.
"Look at you Cora, you haven't changed a bit," Dylan comments with a smile, making the woman lay a hand over her heart in awe.
"Hey, girls," Waylon, a friend of Charlie's, comes up from behind Cora, with a smile of his own. "You guys remember me?" The twins share a glance not having a single recollection of the man.
"I played Santa one year." He elaborated with a chuckle, noticing the confusion written on their faces. Dylan frowned, a memory resurfacing from the past.
"Yeah, Waylon, they haven't had a Christmas here since they were four," Charlie explained to his friend.
"I bet I made an impression though, didn't I?" Waylon stated to the twins.
"You always do," Charlie restored, looking at his daughters while grabbing the salt shaker.
"Butt crack Santa.'' Cora jokes, making the three of them laugh.
Dylan cleared her throat, "If I remember correctly, were you the one I kicked in the knee that year?" She questioned, having Bella let out a chuckle.
Cora laughed, "Yeah, you were not a fan of Santa," She said, patting Waylon on the back.
"Sorry about that." The younger twin looked at him sheepishly.
Waylon shook his head, waving it off. "No, it's okay, at least we got a funny story out of it."
"All right, let Dylan and Bella eat their dinner, Waylon." Cora stopped him from speaking further and moved him back. "As soon as you guys are done, I will bring your favorites. Bella, a berry cobbler, and Dylan the classic Oreo cheesecake, you used to love so much." She glances at Charlie who is starting to cut up his steak. "Your dad alternates between the two, every Thursday." She gives a pat to Dylan on the back as Bella smiles. "Thank you. That'd be great." Cora nods and walks away to another table.
"So, Dad, how was work today?" Dylan asked, grabbing her utensils to start cutting her steak. The girl's question breaks the awkwardness in the air before it even has a chance to start.
It was nothing new, as it happened quite a lot. Bella and Charlie are similar in personality versus Dylan who's the opposite. They were both quiet and kept to themselves. The blue-eyed girl however would bring them out of their shells for the time being, chatting away about anything to which they didn't mind.
