It's Chris' nineteenth birthday, which is also the day of the surprise party. It was 5:00 p.m., thirty minutes before Chris comes back from college. At Tobio's house, the people who were invited has came to help out to prepare the surprise party. Aiden brought some decorations full of of Chris' favorite colors. There were mainly brown, gray, and blue—colors that Tobio sometimes saw Chris usually use when it comes to buying things—along with confetti and flags. There were also colorful decorations brought in by Loid's family and Mia's family—including balloons from Loid's family and flowers from Mia's family. Hokuto made a banner saying 'Happy Birthday Chris!' Written in Comic Sans. It was blue, and had a lot of design. The kitchen table was extended to a long length, where all the invites could sit. Aiden walked up to Tobio and bent down to him, looking with an apologetic look on his face. Tobio looked at Aiden wondering why he was looking like that.
"You know, I'm sorry for not introducing myself properly to you, Tobio." Aiden sighed. "I hope you could forgive me for that, haha."
"No... it's ok," Tobio replied. "You don't have to worry about it."
Mia saw the two talking and decided to join in. Luckily there was some time before Chris would return back from college.
"Whatcha talking about you two?" Mia asked with curiosity. "Anything fun that you're keeping from me?"
"Oh, you're the girl who Hokuto was talking about earlier!" Aiden was surprised. "Mia... was it? Tobio told me about you yesterday when he came to Red Lotus Cafe."
"Really, Tobio said that?"
"Yes, thank you for unexpectedly inviting us."
Tobio's number one concern were his parents. Will they come to Chris' surprise party? If they will, he would want to talk to him a lot about how much he planned the party. Everyone was also spending time before it was time for Chris to come back. Loid and his family were setting up the tables. Jordan, helped out with arranging the sweets, while Loid. Mia, Tobio, Aiden, and Hokuto were chatting about Chris. The smell of scones got caught up with the four. Aiden and Hokuto didn't realize Augustin Bakery goods were also present.
"Those scones... you all went to Augustin Bakery, right?" Hokuto asked Tobio.
"Yeah..." Tobio replied. "Our friend Loid... we're friends with him and he was the one that decided to help us out, hence that is why his family is here."
"Wait... you... and Mia are friends with the son of Augustin Bakery!?" Aiden jumped into the conversation with shock. "Chris loves their blueberry scones!"
"Really!?" Mia was surprised. "Then it was a good idea to bring them here! Enough for the birthday boy!"
"Not just that, we can thank Tobio's parents for letting him use this house!!" Aiden added.
"Right... you've invited your parents. I can't wait to see them!!" Mia said in excitement.
Loid heard his friends talking about Tobio's parents. He walked over to see what was going on, only to see Mia and the two adults excited. The main concern was Mia.
"You... do know when you hang out with Tobio after school, you see his parents, right?" Loid asked Mia in an annoyed tone.
"Loid... Tobio's parents aren't really at home that much. It's only Chris!!" Mia shouted.
"Really? Why not?"
"I wonder... I want to ask Tobio but he didn't feel comfortable saying it."
"Would they mind if those two workers from Red Lotus cafe were here?"
Hokuto also wondered the same thing when Loid mentioned it. He looked at Aiden wondering if they should leave, but Mia had an idea.
"I'm sure they don't mind." Mia pointed out to Tobio and Loid, then shouted, "Let them stay! They need to see Chris!!"
