A few minutes after finding out the truth about Tobio's parents, Tobio felt tired after crying so much. His eyes were puffy from crying, he couldn't process anything after what he learnt. Tobio never knew he was neglected his entire life.
"You calmed down, Tobio." Loid commented. "I apologize for explaining this to you on the first day of middle school... and our reunion.
"It's fine..." Tobio said with a shaky voice. "I didn't expect it either..."
Awkward silence filled in between the two of them. The birds were chirping and looking for food left on the ground as the breeze flows gently in the sky. Loid decided to suggest something to Tobio to cheer him up.
"Wanna come over to my place?" Loid asked. "You've been to the bakery, but you've never my house one time. I'm sure you'll like my room."
"I... I don't know if I could come..." Tobio wondered with fear in his voice. "My parents want me to be back home... with Chris by 5 p.m."
"Well school ends at 2:15 p.m. today and we can still hang out. It's a good way to get away from your parents." Loid said, eating a bite of his home lunch. It was a ham and cheese sandwich cut into halves with grapes on the side. The bread did look a bit smashed based off how it was placed in the bag, but the grapes were alright,
"Ah... then I'll have time to catch up...!" Tobio remembered.
"Mhm. My brother will be happy to see you again after two years."
"I'll go. I really need some time away from them... I'll text Chris to pick me up later... at your house, yes?"
Tobio and Loid agreed with hanging out at Loid's house after school. Tobio texted Chris, telling him that he'll be at Loid's house. In order for Chris to pick him up, Loid gave Tobio the permission to send his address so he knows where to go. Chris immediately replied to his text, saying that he was surprised Tobio was able to reunite with Loid, which made Tobio smile a bit. Tobio didn't feel like eating his lunch now since he needs time to recover from crying. He felt tired and wanted to calm down a little longer, so he rested on Loid's shoulder. Loid was a little surprised and let him lay down on his shoulder.
"Alright alright, but please eat..."
Time has passed and it's now after school. Tobio headed to Loid's class in a better mood than lunch time. As he saw Loid, he waited outside for him patiently. Loid walked out of his class and saw Tobio, who was smiling.
"Please tell me you're actually smiling." Loid hoped that the smile on Tobio's face is real.
"Yep, I am actually smiling." Tobio said, making a fist pump. "To your house we go!"
Tobio and Loid walked outside and saw a lot of students on their phones and a lot of cars parked waiting to be picked up. Loid saw his brother's car and asked Tobio to follow him. Jordan's car was a 2009 Honda Accord, with a gray color. Although the car was old, the car still looked like it was brand new.
"Jordan, I'm bringing a friend with me home if that's fine with you." Loid said, sitting in the front.
Jordan smiled. "Oh my, you made your first middle school friend! I'd like to see who-"
As Jordan saw Tobio again, Jordan raised his eyes and was unable to say a word, looking left and right. "T-Tobio...! I haven't seen you in two years...!!!"
"Yo, Jordan!" Tobio waved at Jordan.
"HE EVEN CHANGED TOO!?!?" Jordan was thunderstruck by Tobio's way of speaking.
"Alright Jordan, I think you can stop over reacting." Loid said.
"Sorry, sorry..." Jordan felt embarrassed.
