"To Say The Needed Words"

The next morning finally came, as my carriage was entering the palace gates, i thought, im here again...

Ok, so if i remembered correctly, I'll take this route. Here, go left and then head straight till you see a big fancy door.

Aha found it, opening the door i walked slowly looking around, so this is what the imperial meeting room looks like huh, fancy as ever, since i knew where my designated seat, it was beside the emperor.

As i sat down, there were already nobles who came early. Some of them looked at me as if they were judging that I was there, but the others just minded their business.

What amazes me about Cynthias character is the fact that she's the only woman in this room full of men, like she really did broke the stereotypes about the idealism where women cant lead, and women arent just for house duties.

"THE EMPEROR AND THE CROWN PRINCE HAS ARRIVE." said the announcer.

All of the nobles bowed in the room. When the emperor got to his position, he told us, "You can take your seats now, gentlemen."

Then, after that, i noticed Kain was smiling while looking at me, so i smiled back.

The emperor started, "So who among you here would like to make a statement before we start anything?"

It seems as though no one is caring to speak, so i instantly raised my hand and told them, "I would like to say something, your majesty."

"Alright, please proceed your grace." He gave me permission to talk.

I stood up and started my discussion, "Thank you, well, what i would like for anyone to at least take notice by, is the condition of the people in the slums your majesty."

"Ahh, right, the mage reported last time you visited that place for food donation, that was very kind of you."

"Yes, about that, what i desire to say here is I want to propose a funding to build that place a hospital and construct each one of the people there simple houses so they could have a place to sleep, and small food support until of course their environment evolves for the better. What would be your opinion about that, your majesty?"

A man spoke, "May i say a word on this matter, your grace?"

"Of course, Lord Helton."

"As the grand duchess seems to be too kind, are we perhaps gonna participate in the funding?"

"Yes, every noble here is expected to cooperate."

Everyone in the area was surprised, one of the people inside that room thought, has this girl lost her mind, she hasnt spoken up on anything until now, just what kind of notion is she requesting.

I gave the emperor the papers needed for the preparations, "Here your majesty, please read out my plans."

The man who spoke earlier was mad, "Have you thought that it would cost a great fortune your grace?"

"Everyone here is required to give money, you're not the only one who's gonna spend your lordship."

Finally, another man slammed his hand on the table and shouted, "Your grace!, this is utterly absurd. Do you know the amount of money needed until their situation gets better? It would take about years with that condition."

I sighed, "It pains me how nobles like you has that mindset, so what if its gonna take years for their environment to get better, we all here are rich nobles who have monthly incomes worth thousands and even millions and not all of us has experienced whats its like living in poverty, they are our people, and we are the nobles who help our empire to grow and prosper, and besides their merely just a small population, so the needed money isnt as big as you think it is. Just for once, keep in mind the citizens who are struggling and not just yourself. Without our people, our purpose in being a noble has no worth."
