Every single human in this world is born with a specific birthmark. A birthmark with a shape and location only shared with one other person on this planet. This person is known as their birth mate.

Mated at birth, they grow up learning at school and from their relatives about what it exactly means to have a birth mate and how it feels when they eventually meet them.

Faith comes in sorts that every single person will either cross paths or meet their birth mate before the age of 21. Although it is everyone's dream growing up to meet their birth mate, not everyone will grow to live their life alongside their mate.

A few unexpected circumstances can come in the way of that.

The most known reason is sadly caused by ignorance. Many can cross paths and never truly acknowledge each other. They might feel a slight pull towards someone in public and mistake it for attraction, when in reality, they are standing right in front of their birth mate. It is crucial to not overlook these feelings and carefully listen to what is taught at school to fully be aware of the expectations of mate bonds.

Others may already have someone in their love life. Started a family even, and have no interest in finding their mate at that point in the risk of breaking their already built family. This is quite a recurring case. As some grow older, they get close and committed to someone who isn't their mate.

And lastly, some may be part of a tragedy. It is extremely unfortunate, but it does happen. The moment a birth mate passes, the other half will feel the pain of their bond breaking even if they have never met.

The bond breaking is said to be one of the most painful experiences out there.

Whichever the circumstance, it is possible to live a happy life without your birth mate.

However, it is nearly impossible for someone not to think of the what if.

The moment they are born, a small space in their heart is saved for their birth mate to fill. No one else can take that place, as much as they would want it to.

They are born to find each other. Born to be with this specific person.

Some people may pretend not to care about birth mates in general, but deep down, every single human is curious about their birth mate. Curious to see what destiny has paired them with.

The bond itself is strong. A person would be a fool to ignore it or even go as far as going against it. They stand no chance if they try to fight against destiny.

The bond comes in 3 stages.

At first, the bond can feel like attraction. A lot of people can misinterpret the attraction they feel towards someone to the actual mate bond. These feelings are intensified at touch or proximity. At that stage, only the heart is connected to the bond.

The moment when they see each other's matching birthmarks, that is when the bond truly intensifies. The moment their eyes see the matching mark, their mind and heart connect together and solidifies the bond. Many people may think of this as the final stage, the part where the bond can't get any stronger. What many still ignore to this day is that there is actually another stage that follows this.

That stage is the actual mating process. Or, as we call it, making love. That is the final stage. At that point, the mind, heart, and soul connect as one. This is at the strongest the bond will ever be felt. It is literally impossible to break at that point.

After each stage, the bond gets stronger and stronger. Therefore, more difficult to break.

Breaking the bond is always a possibility given nevertheless.

If someone, for instance, meets their birth mate but has a family with somebody else, they can easily break the bond. This doesn't mean the process is any less painful in the slightest. Actually, breaking the bond is one of the most painful feelings out there.

At the occasion where someone would want to reject their mate, they would have to state their full name wishing to break the bond with their mate's full name.

The bond can only break if the person saying it truly wishes and believes the words they are saying.

Once the bond is broken, all feelings or pull towards your birth mate will be completely gone.

The bond of a birth mate is the strongest bond to ever be known. Depending on which stage you are at, it can be harder to break. Nearly impossible, but not impossible.
