I walk into my first class of Film and the room is practically empty.
The tables are set in pairs. Given that I came in early, I have quite some options to choose from as far as where to sit.
I settle for the table at the far right corner next to the window. I like sitting near the back of the class. I feel like I have more control over everything; I can see everything before my eyes. And having a window right next to me to stare out of occasionally is just an added bonus.
Minutes go by and the classroom starts to fill itself. I just mind my business opening my notebook and getting ready for class to begin while others get settled in.
"Can I sit here?" I look up to see this cute guy with warm brown eyes looking down at me with a friendly smile. He seems nice.
"Sure," I smile back. The chair gets pulled back, and he grabs the seat next to me.
"My name is Raphael, by the way," he introduces himself, turning my way slightly.
"Hi Raphael, I'm Emma," I give him a sweet smile. That smile soon fades when we get interrupted.
"You're in my seat," I look up to set my eyes on an annoyed-looking Drew. His words are directed to Raphael.
"How is this your seat? This is the first class of the semester." Raphael seems confused.
"This is my seat, move." His voice is stern.
Raphael doesn't fight him any longer, guessing he's not one for drama. He stands up and begins to collect his things.
"That's nonsense. There are plenty of seats available in this room. Take another one!" I glare at Drew, only to be rewarded by a glare of his own.
"That's fine. I'll just take that seat." Raphael points to a chair that is two rows ahead. He turns to give me a small smile before making his way to his new seat.
I feel movement next to me and huff. I cross my arms and look away out the window. I can't believe this guy; Who does he think he is?
Soon enough, the seat next to me is occupied by none other than Drew Davis, and I couldn't be more annoyed by it.
I cant believe him. How dare he just demand someone to move like that. Raphael seemed like a nice sweet guy.
I feel extremely annoyed and decide to ignore the rude guy sitting next to me.
His gaze, however, is burning my skin, which fuels my annoyance even more.
"Good morning, Emma." Drew's deep voice speaks up next to me.
I just keep looking outside. I can hear a deep chuckle next to me when I ignore him. My heart flutters at the sound.
Glad to know I humor him.
"Ignoring me, I see?"
I stay silent.
"Emma."
My eyes stay glued to the window.
"Emma."
Okay, he is definitely getting on my nerves.
"Emma."
If I keep ignoring him, he will eventually leave me alone. Surely.
"Emma."
"What do you want?!" I snap, louder than I intended. I attract the attention of nearly everyone in class.
"Sorry," I mumble quietly while I look around class; I can feel my cheeks warming up. My eyes involuntary make their way to Drew, and I regret it the second they do.
