After collecting our class schedules at the main office, Liv and I go our separate ways. Since we are in different programs, we don't share any classes together.
We do, however, make plans to meet up for lunch later. We both have an empty block at noon.
I start making my way to my first class of the semester; Character Development.
When I get to class, the room is already half full. I look around to choose the perfect seat; I settle for the desk at the far left corner by the window.
Once I grab my seat, I take my supplies out and settle them on my desk. I get distracted from my task when I hear a familiar laugh enter the room.
I look up and see Alec walking into the classroom, laughing alongside Drew.
As soon as Alec meets my gaze, his smile grows and he immediately makes his way in my direction.
"Em! We've got a class together, how awesome!" He sets his bag on the free desk in front of me.
I smile brightly up at him. "Let me see your schedule! We might have more classes together."
Alec reaches into his pocket and takes out a folded piece of paper, handing it to me.
I didn't notice Drew settling himself on the free desk next to me until he'd already sat down.
"Lovely to meet you, Emma." A deep voice to my left speaks.
I look up from that folded piece of paper in my hands to a smirking Drew Davis looking straight at me. I try my best not to gasp.
How can eyes be this green? Seeing him up close literally takes my breath away. Something about his overall presence feels very strong around me; it's surrounding me. It takes a few seconds for my brain to process what is going on.
How does Drew Davis know my name?
To be fair, Alec probably told him. That would be the only logical explanation really.
"Don't even think about it mate," Alec warns him before I even get the chance to answer, giving him a stern look.
"What?" Drew turns his attention to Alec and lets out a small laugh, clearly amused.
"I know that look, Drew. Don't even think about it. Em is off-limits." His voice holds no humor; he is absolutely serious.
I've never seen this protective and serious side of Alec before. It makes my heart flutter.
Happy to know he is aware of the flirtatious games of his friend, but surprised and slightly offended he would think I would actually fall for them though.
"As much as I am relieved that you are aware of your friend's womanizer ways, I must admit that I am quite offended you'd think I would be the type of girl to fall for that fake charm."
"Fake?"
I turn to face the man in question.
"Yes, fake. Nice to meet you. I know all about your um...lifestyle. I don't want any part of it, so don't waste your time. Just want to make sure we're on the same page."
To my odd surprise, Drew's eyes just dance with amusement. His smirk is deeper if that's even possible.
"Who says you're my type?"
My heart drops at the cold rejection.
I turn my focus to my hands, unfolding the paper Alec gave me to look at his schedule.
"Damn, this is the only class we have together actually." My shoulders drop slightly.
Happy to share my first class of college with him though.
