The Loneliness Fiend is such a brilliant villain for Aki and Himeno to have faced off against, especially as their first one. The fear of being alone is what spurs Himeno into starting this codependency on Aki, what causes her death, and what in turn makes Aki grimly accept that he's going to "join her soon".
Aki didn't even realize he was so lonely until he didn't have Himeno by his side anymore...
As much as they objectively ruined each other's lives, they needed each other. It wasn't healthy for Aki to close himself off from others the same way it wasn't healthy for Himeno to cling to the only person who made her feel alive. But they each gave the other what they needed while they still could, and grew so close that they basically couldn't live without each other (i mean Himeno offed herself just so she wouldn't have to and Aki don't gaf about his life after lol).
Really, I think it would be interesting to have Loneliness a part of Division 4. He could've been like "the first fiend" since y'know they didn't become a hybrid division until Makima found Denji. I was lowkey thinking about making a Himeno x Reader fic with him as the MC, since we know so little about Loneliness fiend he could count as a self-insert in this situation xD but lemme know if you guys r interested I might make a one-shot.
Also like the whole reverse-cupid thing is just *chef's kiss* to me, ESPECIALLY when it comes to these two like!??! And Himeno opening the door so it could come in WITHOUT telling Aki her plan at ALL will never not be funny xD
