Kehlani's pov

"Did you find it?" Carl, my boyfriend asks me

"Ughhh I'm going to be late" I say to myself ignoring him.

"Relax Kehlani , I'll help you look" He assures me, I take a deep breath, start to look with him.

"There" he hands me my keys. I put my arms around his shoulder and kiss him passionately.

"I'll fetch Katorah from school, I love you." I rush to my car and head to work.

"Good morning." My manager Lesly greets, handing me a cup of coffee

"What's good about this morning?" I ask, taking the coffee and examining it.

"Well, since you asked... There's someone who we're putting you on a song with, " she says, walking me to the studio.

"Who's this rapper?" I ask, and before she could answer, the door of the studio opens, and my eyes open wide.

My heart races, and my body feels numb, Im trying to get myself to move, but the shock is trapping me.

No, It can't be. When I can finally move, I hurriedly rush out of the studio and into my car.

I stopped at my best friends house

"So she's back," she confirms for the 30th time.

"Yes, Laura, she's back! What the fuck am I supposed to do now?? For Christ sake she was in jail because of me and i didn't even visit, and I'm married with a child" I panick

"Its been 3 years K, she was imprisoned because of a rash move she made to protect you '' Laura said, and i felt even worse.

''Laura there's something..." I trail off scared about what she might say.

"What is it?" She asks,  but she's my best friend and I've held it in for to long.

"I told you M.A is intersex right?" She nods and I take a deep breath.

"Katorah Kasanova Marrero" I wait as hse looks like she's adding things together

" Katorah is M.As kid?!" She yells after she finally realized it 50 years later.

"Please Laura might as well write it on the sky lines" I sigh and lean back on my chair and face the ceiling.

"Kehlani listen... I understand why you didn't want to tell anybody although I am hurt you didn't tell me, but now that you did you have someone to support you Keh, I'm here for you" She walked up to me and I completely burst our tears, Laura held me like that for a while and after that i knew exactly what i had to do

i had to speak to young m.a, clear things out, or at least just to make sure that she's okay.
