We had twenty two days to breathe before we had to get on another fucking plane. Twenty days to stop thinking so much. To do other stupid shit like adopting a cat and draw on each other's faces. I am not apologizing for that, it was hilarious.

I knew something had been bothering him. I knew something made him want to curl up and die. Just like he knew I wanted to too. So we kept each other alive, no questions asked and silence encouraged because we both knew. Even if we didn't say it.

We both needed to figure things out. And maybe one day we'd talk. I didn't know, and I liked not knowing.

In the meantime, we had a good time and pulled each other out of the water when needed. Our baggage would eventually swim back up, but we had time. I least I hoped we would.

I invited Charlie to stay with me for a few days, just until Sass got comfortable in his new home, and I must admit, when he accepted, a huge smile appeared on my face.

It was... strange. When it came to Charles, I had no idea what I was truly feeling. Like it wasn't real, and just impossible to describe.

The feeling was like smoke from a cigarette, toxic and taking up all the space, but addictive and oh, so good.

Sitting in my living room I couldn't help but leave my phone to observe him. The way his eyebrows furrowed as he watched something attentively, and how and when his dimple appeared. He was so... unique. Taking the time to really see every feature of his face, I inevitable fell on his lips.

Rosy, soft, pretty. Very kissable.

Very kissable? What?

I instantly looked away, and just in time because he moved his gaze away from his phone and towards me. "Hey, look!"

He gestured for me to sit besides him instead of across from him and I got up. Sitting down again, I was a few inches away from him, inches he erased by moving closer to me, his leg now touching mine as he showed me his screen.

His knee wasn't warm, but it burned my skin, even through the fabric. And the contact nearly made my heart stop.

Holy- Oh boy... Just breathe, be calm.

Ok, that's obviously not working! Why am I not calm? I specifically requested it. CALM. Shit! That's not very calm is it? Shut up! He's talking.

"Isn't that hilarious?" I nodded with a stupid smile, having no idea what he was talking about and Jimmy came to my rescue by creating a distraction.

A distraction I would've survived without though... Not the best one, he needs to work on it.

He actually just bit Charles, without remorse might I add, because Charlie, the human was in his, the cat's spot.

I live with a narcissistic asshole. He cute though.

Charles winced and quickly stood up before checking his ankle, where Jimmy's teeth attacked him.

"Holy shit!" My eyes went wide and I stood up to help. "Oh my! Are you ok?" He chuckled, but I could see pain on his face. "I'm fine. But wow that hurts!" I apologized as he sat back down, next to Jimmy, holding his ankle.

I fell onto my knees and pushed his hand away, checking the wound. It wasn't bad, but it still looked like it hurt.

I got a bandaid and some alcohol to clean him up and quickly came back to sit on the floor besides him, at level with his foot which was resting on his other leg.
