The Dance

Two weeks before the Halloween dance at Redwood School of Fine Arts, people rush through the halls with big signs for the person they were planning on asking to the dance, some rejected most accepted, but there was one girl in the school who knew she wouldn't get asked to the dance, her name was Jess, Jess never focused of getting a date for the dance, it was normal for her to go alone and stand in the corner watching everyone dance and have fun, one of the perks of being the one watching was you get to see everything that happens, break ups, hook ups, and more, although it was interesting to listen in on other people's drama, it was also very lonely and depressing, but for some odd reason, Jess didn't have to go alone this year because her best friend Leo didn't have a date so he asked her, she didn't know why he chose her out of every other girl that didn't have a date, but he did, he asked Jess, Jess said yes, thinking it would be fun.

The night of the dance, Jess got ready. Leo waited patiently on the stairs, when Jess came down the stairs, Leo looked at her in awe, Jess wore a short black dress, and Leo wore a Black suit that matched his black hair and blue eyes. Leo does not expect Jess to look so good, as Jess gets to the bottom of the steps she and Leo link arms and Jess's mom starts taking pictures, after pictures Leo and Jess head out to the car and then they leave for the dance.

When they arrive at the dance Leo gets out the car and opens the door for Jess,

"such a gentleman" Jess says, as she chuckles,

Leo laughs at her comment, then they walk in the school and they get there wristbands, after they get their wrist bands they head towards the dance floor, which was already crowded even though the dance had just started, as Leo and Jess get surrounded by people on the dance floor they begin to dance, but while they're dancing a girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes walks passed them and Leo's eyes follow her,

"go" Jess says as she follows his gaze,

without a second thought Leo rushes away leaving Jess standing alone in the middle of the dance floor, even though Jess told him to go she still felt sad that he actually left her, Jess frowns as she squeezes her way through people to get off the dance floor, Jess eventually makes it off the dance floor, as she goes to walk through the empty hallways, when she comes across an unlocked door she walks into the classroom, and turns the lights on as she closes the door.

In the classroom Jess sits alone, but after a while she hears the door start to open, she looks up to see a beautiful girl walking in, Jess jumps up from the chair she had been sitting in,

"sorry" she says as she rushes towards the door,

The beautiful girl grabs Jess's arm,

"no it's ok, you can stay" she says in her sweet voice,

Jess smiles at the girl

"are you sure" Jess asks,

the beautiful girl nods,

"yes im sure" she says as she smiles

"Im Rose" she says extending her hand out to shake Jess's hand,

Jess grabs her hand and shakes it,

"im Jess" she answers,

Rose smiles and asks Jess why she was sitting in a classroom alone, Jess sighs and tells her about Leo and how he ditched her for a better looking girl, Rose looks Jess up and down,

"what could get better than this" she says,

Jess blushes at Roses words, before returning the question, Rose looks at Jess almost like she was looking for a lie to hide why she came into the classroom,

"it's ok, you don't have to tell me" Jess says,

Rose looks at Jess

"my girlfriend broke up with me" she says nervously waiting for Jess's response to the word girlfriend,
