Ditched At The Dance

Danger

A week after graduation, Rose and Jess are wakened by Rose’s phone ringing on the nightstand, 

“Rose your phone,” Jess says in a mumble as she pushes on Rose’s arm,

Rose sits up, rubs her eyes, and picks up her phone,

“Hello?” Rose says in a sleepy voice,

Jess looked up trying to hear who it was, but she could only hear mumbles, after a couple of minutes Rose continued to talk to the person on the phone then she hung up,

“Who was that?” Jess asked,

“It was just the school calling to let us know our artwork is ready to get picked up,” Rose says as she sets her phone down, and pulls Jess closer as she lays back down,

“Shouldn’t we go pick them up?” Jess asks,

“Yeah but they said we can pick it up anytime before 5 pm,” Rose says, 

“I just need ten more minutes with you,” Rose adds as she tightens her arms around Jess, and kisses her neck,

“Okay, just ten minutes,” Jess says as she pulls the covers back over them,

Rose smiled as she continued to hold Jess in her arms and kiss her neck.

After ten minutes of cuddling Rose and Jess finally got up and got dressed, when they finished getting ready they headed out of the door and drove to the school, as they got to the school Rose and Jess went inside, and the principal greeted them in the office and told them they can grab their artwork from Ms.Harts room, Rose and Jess smiled as they started walking towards Ms.Harts classroom, as they walk in her classroom, Ms.Hart excitedly jumped out her chair, and rushed towards Rose and Jess, and greeted them with a tight hold, 

“Hey girls, how have you been?” Ms.Hart asked,

“Great,” Rose and Jess answer with a smile,

“Aw that’s great, well I have your guys' artwork back here,” Ms.Hart said as she walked to the back of her classroom,

Ms.Hart grabs two portfolios out of her cabinet, and hands them to Rose and Jess, 

“It was nice seeing you,” Jess says giving Ms.Hart another hug, 

“Aw you’re so sweet, we’ll have to figure something out,” Ms.Hart says smiling,

“Like a little get-together,” Rose says,

“Yeah, I’d love that,” Ms.Hart says,

“You could bring your wife, and it can be a double date,” Jess says excitedly,

Ms.Hart nodded as she went to her desk to grab a piece of paper, and started writing something on it, then she walked back to Rose and Jess and handed them the paper.

“Here’s my number, call me anytime,” Ms.Hart exclaimed,

“Will do,” Rose and Jess said as they started towards the door,

As Rose reached for the doorknob the alarm started going off, Rose and Jess looked at each other and then at Ms.Hart, Ms.Hart gestured for them to get back in the classroom as she rushed towards the door to lock it, and she pulled the blinds shut.

“Go to the back corner and stay low,” Ms.Hart says trying to stay calm,

Suddenly the PA system went off, it was the principal,

“Code Red! I repeat code red,” The principal said,

The speakers went off, followed by a loud Pop!
