Ditched At The Dance

Love

Later that night Rose drove Jess home when Jess walked in her door her mom was already waiting,

 “where were you” Jess’s mom said sitting in the corner of the dark living room, 

Jess jumped, startled by her mother's voice,

 “I was hanging out with Rose” Jess answers,

 “this late” Jess’s mom said curiously, 

Jess nods “yes we….um went to the library to study” Jess said hesitantly, 

“no library is open this late Jess” Jess’s mom said in disbelief, 

 “well we went to the library then we went to eat because we haven’t eaten since lunch” Jess says, 

Jess’s mom looked at her in disbelief,

 “tell me the truth” Jess’s mom said giving Jess that look all moms give their kids when they know they’re lying, Jess gulps

 “ok…there’s something I need to tell you” Jess says nervously, 

“go on” Jess’s mom said with her mom voice, Jess gulps again 

“I'm gay” Jess says abroubtly, 

Jess’s moms face gets more serious as she stands up and walks to the door,

 “where are you going” Jess asks,

 “im going to the store, and when i get back your stuff better be packed, and you better be gone” Jess’s mom says as she walks out the door,

 Jess began to cry as she runs upstairs, when Jess gets in her room she grabs a black dufflebag from her closet, and starts to pack as much clothes as she could, when she gets done packing clothes she goes downstairs, and starts to pack snacks and a few food items that she new wouldn’t go bad.

After packing Jess grabbed her bike and started riding towards her favorite place at the park, when she got there she was tired and out of breath, she sat on the edge of the fallen tree, eventually she sat on the ground leaning on the tree, and she fell asleep laying on her dufflebag, in the morning Jess woke up to check the time, she looked at her phone and seen that it was four in the morning so she got up, and started riding her bike to school, when she got to school she hid her bike and dufflebag behind the school, and she went inside, when she goes inside she is greeted by Rose, Rose walked up to Jess 

“hey” Rose says,

 “hey” Jess says, putting on a fake smile, Rose smiles 

“I went to pick you up but you weren’t outside, i waited i while, and left” Rose says,

 “oh im sorry i wasn’t home” Jess says trying to think of something to tell her, 

“i was at my neigbors, because my mom left for a trip, and didn’t want me to stay home alone” Jess adds, 

but she felt a pit in her stomach, Jess feels bad for lying, but she didn’t know how to tell Rose, Rose nods in understanding, then the bell rings and they go to there separate classes, Jess sits in her first hour wondering why she lied to Rose instead of telling her she got kicked out, after Jess’s first hour ended the rest of the day went by fast, and before she knew it, it was time for her to leave, but there was one problem, Rose can’t see Jess she’ll offer her a ride home, Jess sees Rose down the hall and she runs the other way, Jess ran out the back doors of the school hoping Rose didn’t see her, Jess went over to where she left her bike and dufflebag, and after everybody left the school Jess started to get a little hungry, and she reached into her dufflebag and pulled out a bag of chips, all she had were snacks because the food that she packed ended up going bad anyways, Jess’s stomach rumbles,

 “this isn’t going to help” Jess says to herself, 

Jess relized she needs more than just a snack so she got on her bike and went to the closest restaurant she could find which happens to be almost everyones favorite fast food restaurant, McDanolds, she only had fourty bucks to last her so she orders from the dollar menu, Jess got a cheeseburger and fries, when she finished eating she still felt a little hungry but she knew she couldn’t get more, because she has to save her money, as she was sitting at her table Rose drove passed, and seen Jess, when Rose seen Jess she turned around, and parked, then Rose went inside, and sat next to Jess, “why are you here” Rose asks,

 Jess looks at Rose surprised,

 “i was hungry” Jess answers,

 “and you came all the way out here to get food, and on your bike” Rose says, 

“are you avoiding me” Rose asks, Jess frowns and looks down,

 “what’s wrong” Rose asks,

 “yes, i’ve been avoiding you, but it’s nothing that you did” Jess says frowning as tears began to run down her face, 

“hey what’s wrong” Rose asked again holding Jess in a tight hug,

 “was it what happened at my apartment yesterday” Rose asks, 

Jess shakes her head, 

“no it’s not that” Jess says,

 “then tell me, what happened” Rose says,

 “my mom kicked me out” Jess says, 

Rose frowns “why didn’t you tell me” Rose asked, 

“because i didn’t want you to feel obligated to let me stay with you” Jess replies,

 Rose squeezes Jess tighter,

 “Jess i love you, and i would love for you to stay with me” Rose says lifting Jess’s head, Rose kisses Jess’s cheek,

 “come on you’re coming to my place” Rose says, 

Jess looks at Rose in awe,

 “you said you love me” Jess exclaims, 

Rose smiles, “and i ment it” Rose says, 

Jess smiles, “i love you too” Jess says, 

Rose kisses Jess, “well now that we know that we love each other, lets go home” Rose says, 

“home” Jess says curiously, Rose smiles

 “yes, home, our home” Rose says, 

Rose stands up, and puts out her hand for Jess, Jess smiles, and takes her hand, and they walk out happily, Jess grabs her bag, and Rose opens the trunk, and put the seats down so Jess could put her bike in the back, when Jess gets in the car, she holds Rose’s hand, and they drive to her apartment. 

Once they arrive at the apartment, Rose starts to move stuff out of her closet, “what are you doing” Jess asks, 

“I'm making room for your stuff” Rose replies, 

“you don’t have to do that” Jess says,

 “yes I do, you live here now, you need closet space” Rose says, 

Jess smiles and walks up behind Rose, and kisses her neck as she wraps her arms around Rose’s waist, 

“what are you up to” Rose asks, 

Jess chuckles, 

“I’m kissing my girlfriend” Jess answers,

 Rose smiles, and turns around, wrapping her arms around Jess, and kisses her, “we should probably get to bed” Rose says, Jess nods in agreement and they go to bed.
