Episode 7: True colors

Oscar with Ozpin on the pilot seat sits with Wuu and Qrow. They all have coffee that day and Wuu looks down at his cup lost in thought.

Qrow: Things aren't looking to good Oz.

Ozpin: Ever the optimist. *sips from coffee* While I'll admit the current situation is not ideal, it could be far worse. Humanity is a resilient force.

Qrow: Oz, pro huntsmen don't just bite it all at once. It seems Salem's reach is growing by the day. What does that say about humanity?

Ozpin: That there are indeed a misguided few who have filled their hearts with malice. I know it doesn't take a lot of people to cause harm but I bet there are a lot more willing to prevent it.

Ozpin looks at Wuu who stares blankly at the cup in his hands his thoughts hazy.

Flashback 16 years ago.

Summer Rose holds her ground on the mission and pants with exhaustion.

A figure stands beside her and they look to see more Grimm come out.

It is Wuu or Macaque as he was called back then and the two clear out the Grimm but Summer collapses with the over exertion of energy.

Macaque: You should go home, I can handle this.

Summer: No! I won't abandon someone on a Whim!

Macaque: There is a time and place for-

Macaque stops sensing something.

Macaque: Hide now!

Summer: What?

Macaque: Someone is coming and they have a huge power level!

Ozpin: Wuu!

Wuu jerks up and notices his two friends looking at him with a face of worry.

Qrow: You good bud?

Wuu: Y-yeah just fine!

Ozpin: You don't have to lie to us we know it is about that day.

Wuu: I just-

Wuu grips the mug tightly in his hand.

Wuu: It was all my fault I-

???: What was your fault?

Wuu turns around expecting Ruby but finds Pyrrha.

Wuu: Oh, Pyrrha good to see you. What is up?

Pyrrha: I have a question for you Professor.

Ozpin: Go ahead Ms. Nikkos.

Pyrrha: I know we have to get the spring maiden to worry about the haven relic. But what about the Fall maiden, or me?

Ozpin: That is an interesting situation, your power is split in half. Until one of you dies the full power of the Fall maiden is locked to both of you. But don't worry about the relic at Beacon, Let's just say I made that one a little tougher to get into.

Pyrrha: That's a relief, anyway I need to go back to my team, see you.

As she walks off Wuu smiles and looks down.

Qrow: Don't beat yourself up over it, it was 16 years ago.

Wuu sighs and puts on a fake smile.

Suddenly Qrow's phone goes off. As he answers it Y/n, Yang and Ruby walk in.

 Yang: I'm just saying just because it was stolen doesn't mean it wasn't good music right?

Ruby: Yeah, because it was stolen from better artists.
