AS THE FINAL CLASS OF the day concluded, you found yourself rubbing your temples, feeling mentally drained from the countless finals. Suddenly, an arm draped around your shoulder, and you looked to your right to meet a pair of familiar hazel-colored eyes. The upturned shape of his eyes hinted at a smiling expression, and even though you were exhausted, his contagious smile had the power to lift your spirits.
"It's finally summer! This year was so long," he groaned in frustration, voicing a complaint he had repeated numerous times throughout the year. "What are you going to do this summer, y/n?"
"Probably mope around wondering when Eren will cut the bullshit and ask her to be his girlfriend," a feminine voice chimed in, coming from the opposite side of you. Both you and the boy next to you turned your heads to face the speaker, revealing the brunette girl you both cherished.
Her brown hair was up in her signature ponytail and she had a large cookie from the campus cafe in her hand as she sent a cheerful smile towards her friends. You rolled your eyes at the man mentioned, shaking your head side to side with a deflated grin. "There's nothing going on between Eren and I, Sash," you replied, cutting the rumor amongst your friend group short, much to her dismay.
"I call bull crap! I saw you guys on the porch that night!"
"Cut it out, Sasha! If y/n says there's nothing between Eren and her, then there's nothing between Eren and her!"
"Shut up, Connie! You're just saying that because you suck up to her!"
The bickering between the two was lighthearted and amusing, just as siblings would argue and you had grown accustomed to it over the past two years that you have been friends with them. As their bickering continued on, your thoughts drifted off to Eren once again. To say that there was nothing going on between you and Eren was a complete and absolute understatement. In fact, instead of nothing, it seemed everything went on between the two of you.
It had been beyond obvious at the time one of you made a move. It had been evident that Eren found you attractive from the first day you were introduced as Sasha's roommate. Due to that, the only hint he would give you was eye contact and longing glances, which evolved to lingering touches. After that, on a drunken night, Eren decided to kiss you on his porch, confessing all that he felt which was really just attraction towards you. He thought he was confessing romantic feelings, but you were convinced otherwise.
Although you and Eren have had your fair kisses and relationship-like experiences, you felt absolutely guilty. Why did you feel guilty exactly? Because Mikasa Ackerman was so blatantly in love with Eren you felt as if you were coming between the both of them. Despite Eren constantly stating he felt no feelings for the girl he grew up with, you couldn't help but feel as if he was lying straight to your face every time he denied feelings for her.
