THE ALARM BELONGING to your phone rang loudly, startling you awake. Instead of waking from your slumber on the couch, you woke up in your bed that seemed exceptionally cleaner than what it was yesterday night. That was when you remembered that you had gotten up from your spot in between Connie and Sasha on the sofa to finish your packing for Bar Harbor.

Sighing as you checked the time, you noticed the way the sun was barely rising, the time reading 6:00 AM. Your plan was to leave as early as possible to get there by noon as it was a seven hour drive, and you also hoped to beat traffic. Groaning as you rubbed your eyes, trying to get rid of the way your eyes felt heavy, you pushed off your blanket before standing from your bed.

You had taken a shower last night after finishing your packing, so you opted to just get dressed, tidy up your room a bit, and leave. You should have probably told Sasha that you were leaving at least, but you were already dreading the summer and you didn't want to deal with Sasha telling you to have plenty of fun during your yearly "rich" summer. You despised it when you were lumped into the same group as the rich, because you truly were not and the only reason you could continue to have your summers in Bar Harbor was because... because of your step-mother.

Placing your duffel bag beside your suitcase in your car trunk, you sighed as you tiredly rubbed your eyes. It didn't help that Eren hadn't come to say goodbye to you like he had said he would, but... he had said that before your extremely large argument.

Suddenly, your phone had buzzed silently in your pocket, causing you to quickly grab it assuming that it was one of your siblings questioning when you would be there. However, just as you were thinking of him, his name popped up in your notification center, the text reading, "get there safe."

That was it. That was it.

Sometimes you despised Eren Yeager because while he made it known he cared for you deeply, he also made it extremely difficult to determine if he cared for you as much as you cared for him. Deciding to leave him on delivered, you sighed in frustration before shutting your trunk forcefully, storming to the driver's seat.

Once you were settled into the car, you looked ahead out of the windshield at the scenery around your shared apartment's parking lot, taking a deep breath. Another full summer with your siblings, father... and step-mother, and you couldn't be any less joyful about it.

SEVEN HOURS LATER, you were driving through the beach town Bar Harbor, making your way up to the summer beach house your family owned. Once you had made it to where multiple beach houses rested next to one another with some distance, your gaze landed on the grayish-white house you had countless memories in, yet dreaded stepping foot in. The entirety of the beach house was greyish-white and it normally wouldn't stand out unless you were familiar with it, but what did make it stand out was the baby blue roof.
