The Secret Lily of the Garden

Chapter 4

I noticed that his face got splashed with a bit of blood from earlier. I reached to my pocket then realized I already used the handkerchief earlier. I looked around to find something to wipe the blood with then my eyes landed on my dress.

I heaved a sigh. Well it's dirty anyways. I lifted the inner part of my dress and wiped his face.

He finally took his eyes off the knife then looked at me.

"I just wanted to wipe the blood off your face. I figured you would be horrified if you saw yourself in the mirror"

He just swallowed something down his throat and looked back at his hand

Ahh, so that's why.

" You probably won't need to use it but keep it just in case"

I faced the other kids then immediately turned my back against them.

"We already sent messengers to your families. Don't worry, they must be on their way"

They didn't answer so I looked back at the silver haired kid one last time, it seemed like he had something to say but then just decided to drop it. I didn't pay any attention to it and got off the carriage.

"What took you so long"

A woman in her teens asked me. She wore a black tank top paired with shorts and high boots. A pair of bloody katana on her hands.

"I should be the one asking you guys that, and besides, the other kids were quite frightened so I just reassured them and told them their families are coming."

I saw her lift her brow.

"You talk like you ain't one. Let me remind you kiddo, those 'children' are just the same age as you"

I just looked at her with a blank look then turned away.

"We both know I'm not like them. Though our age are similar, I have to go on jobs like this just to put food on the table."

She crossed her arms and just nodded in agreement.

"And besides, what normal 9 year old can slit the throat of a grown up kidnapper almost thrice times her age and size."

She just chuckled and walked towards the front.

"Come on let's go, the others are waiting"

I just hummed and followed her.
