The next morning after announcing our break to Amias the house was eerily quiet. I checked the counter for breakfast and saw it sitting on the counter. I quickly ran back to the guest room to freshen up before seeing a text from Cassie with Mari's number.

I smirked, sending her a quick "Good Morning text" before taking my place at the counter. I didn't see Amias' food so I'm assuming she ate already. After finishing breakfast and still no show of Amias I walked to our bedroom to see if she was still asleep or something but the bed was freshly made. Her side of the vanity was completely cleared off and I realized she must have left during the early hours of the morning.

Mari: Good Morning Markell
Markell: Good to know my number is saved.

I waited for her response before I went through our shared closet for something to wear. I pulled out a Gallery Department shirt and a custom pair of Amiri jeans that Amias ordered from some nigga in LA. She knew fashion and kept up with both men and womens fashion. All of her clothes were vintage or custom. If it was off-the-rack it wouldn't be a duplicate for long because she would either customize it herself or commission someone else to do it. At one point she worked on a collection behind-the-scenes with Denim Tears. It was popular and sold out before the launch. She mentioned working with another brand but our real business came first and I had to shut it down so we could avoid distractions.

Mari: Cassie may or may not have told me that I would be getting a message from you soon.
Markell: You busy?
Mari: I own a brunch spot of course I am.
Markell: Take a day.
Mari: What's in it for me?
Markell: Me
Mari: And that means....
Markell: That I'll pick you up at around one.
Mari: I'll agree but my son has to come.

I agreed and I didn't mind kids. Amias and I never discussed kids but I knew one day she would have my son. Down the line of course. Once we get over this break and re-figure out our relationship we can talk about kids.

I waited for another hour before showering to see if Amias would at least show up home but she didn't and I shrugged it off.

I didn't have anything extravagant planned for Mari today. I just wanted to get to know her a little before dinner next week. If the spark from yesterday is still there then I want to explore it more. When I made it to our garage I noticed Amias' car missing and it checked out of the quietness of the house. I admittedly appreciated waking up to her not being there. It wasn't permanet but I could get used to it for now. I checked my trunk and pulled out a few stacks for the day and threw them on the driver's seat. I made it to the Plaza to do a few checks before I met with Mari.
I assumed Amias would be here because if she isn't at work then she's at home.

"Toe". I yelled into the back offices.

"Wassam, la brudda." He greeted me with a dap.

"You talked to Mi-Mi last night?" He asked looking up from his phone.
