The weeks before the Easter Holliday flew by and before I knew it I was on the train again on my way to my family. This time I was not going alone, Alice and the Rosier sisters were also going home for two weeks.
We were sitting in a compartment for ourselves, happily chatting about our plans during the vacation. The Rosier sisters were particularly curious to meet my Muggle parents. Once we arrived at the platform, I saw them and my sister waving from afar. Evelyne pressed her nose against the window.
"Is that them? Are those your parents?" I giggled.
"Yes, but you act like they're precious objects from a museum or something."
"What's a museum?" asked Angy.
"You're not serious, are you? I really need to let you guys stay over during the summer vacation so you can learn how to interact with Muggles and stop thinking of them as zoo animals."
Alice laughed, but the Rosier sisters got a red blush on their cheeks.
After an awkward introduction between my friends and family, we drove home. My mother bombarded me with questions about life at Hogwarts and asked all about my friends she had just met. Petunia sat there silently, clearly impressed by her encounter with them.
Just like before I noticed how much I had missed my family and how nice it was to spend time with them. We had a family gathering during the second week of the Easter Holliday and I flew into the arms of my grandparents whom I hadn't seen in almost 20 years. They wanted to know all about the posh boarding school I was supposedly attending throughout the year, but I hadn't prepared myself to have to lie. My father soon came to my rescue and subtly steered the conversation to Petunia's high school.
During the last day of vacation, we decided to take a long walk in a forest near London. As we sat down for picnicking halfway through our trip, Petunia suddenly asked me: "Can you show me something?"
"Hmm?" I asked, my mouth stuffed with egg salad.
"I mean... could you maybe demonstrate something magic? You've been taking classes for almost a year now, what have you learned? Can't you show us a magic spell or something like that?" I looked at her confused.
"I'm not allowed to show you anything at all, Tuun. It is forbidden to practice magic outside the school walls. That could get me in trouble with the Ministry of Magic."
"Ohh," Petunia said, slightly disappointed.
My parents who were listening intently to our conversation, noticed an awkward silence falling between us, so my mother intervened:
"You can TELL us what you learned, can't you? That's allowed by the ministry or am I wrong?"
"I guess that seems okay," I swallowed my last bite "What do you want to know?"
To my surprise, it was mostly Petunia asking questions. She wanted to know everything about every little detail and was starting to get more and more excited about the magic we were taught at school.
The next day I gave Petunia and my parents a long hug before getting on the train and then started looking for the compartment with my friends.
Once I arrived at school, I noticed that everyone was quieter than usual. I soon realized that exams were fast approaching and that all the students had started studying during the Easter break.
Since things were going so well during classes, I hadn't bothered to study anything throughout the year. I had not once held my books and had to admit with embarrassment to Severus (who apparently had been preparing for the exams for weeks) that some of my books were still in the package. Still, I felt a panic attack rising as I saw everyone around me studying so diligently.
