Chapter 6

Nakauwi na ako,'t lahat pero tila nakalutang parin ako sa ulap because of the kiss — like sh*t! Totoo ba yon? Baka kasi nanaginip lang ako. I just can't believe it happened, that Olivia and I kissed.

Gosh, it's surreal.

And every time i close my eyes, the kiss flashes back behind my eyelids. Nakikiliti ang puso at tyan ko.

Eto ata yong sinasabi nilang butterflies in my stomach.

Pero sana hindi mapalitan ng pain in my heart.

Ang advance ko no?

"There's something different in you." Sabi ni Mama Mara sakin.

We are eating dinner and i tried to control myself not to smile by remembering what happened at the horror house.

From my plate , i look up to Mama Mara. A little confused. "What different?"

"Blooming." It's my Mommy Elise. "You look in love."

And i could feel my face blush. "I'm not in love."

"Ikaw naman Love." Sabi ni Mama Mara kay Mommy. "Baka crush palang."

Natawa si Mommy Elise. "I have nothing against with Olivia."

"Mommy." I try to stop her kasi kahit wala si Olivia dito ay nahihiya ako dahil sya ang pinag-uusapan namin.

But Mommy ignore me and shift her attention to Mama Mara. "I like that girl, Love." Hinawakan nya ang kamay ni Mama. "So sweet, nice and very articulate."

"Me too." Mama Mara agreed.

Kung mag-usap sila ay parang wala ako ah.

"Hello guys." Pagtawag ko sa atensyon ng dalawang mommy ko. "I'm here."

Natawa si mushroom. "Gusto ko din si Ate Olivia."

Nagpunas si Mama Mara ng labi and give me a serious look. "We will not intervene Clover." Hindi ako sumagot. "But i want you take everything easy with Olivia."

"But we have nothing." Katwiran ko. Maybe we kiss, pero wala namang kami eh. "We are just friends."

"Friends." Pag-uulit ni Mommy Elise. "Sure honey."

Hinawakn ni Mama Mara ang kamay ko. "Take it easy."

At hindi na nga ako sumagot. Hindi di rin naman sila naniniwala sakin — I just continue eating.

"Oh Clover." Pagtawag ni Mommy Elise sakin. "Bukas ang last adjustment mo for your braces."

I feel happy. Like yes! Finally for almost two years i can finally get rid of this braces.

To be honest sa una lang masaya magpabraces, parang for fashion, for status pero struggle talaga sa pagkain especially pagbagong adjust.

"Pupunta po ako." I'll make sure.

"Mawawala na yang braces mo." Masayang sabi ni Mama Mara sakin. "Next natin ang lasik."

Actually matagal ng gusto ng parents ko magpalasik, it's just that — I don't want to. Kasi for me okay na ako sa eyeglasses. But now, I'm thinking.

"Pag-iisipan ko po." Sagot ko.

"Wow, may improvement." Natatawa si Mama. "Dati kasi No pero ngayon pag-iisipan na."

"I want braces too." Pagsabat ni Mushhroom.

Mommy Elise pinch my sister's nose. "Hindi pa pwede, at hindi naman lahat kailangan nh braces."

Like Olivia. She never had braces. How did I know? I saw her old pictures before pero yong teeth nya ay maganda talaga. Pang toothpaste commercial.

Daretso agad ako sa kwarto after kumain. I take a bath and watch Netflix — I'm messaging my best friend Margaret though. She is asking to go out tomorrow dahil hindi pa ulit kami nagkakabonding. Of course i said yes.
