The first purge x Dmitri

Chapter 7

After calling Nya and grabbing some weapons we went in

It's was like walking into a haunted house accept the actors were allowed to touch you never knowing when they were gonna pop out

"You stay behind me any sign of trouble you leave"

"God have mercy on my enemies cause I won't"

I walked in front of D staying low and ready there was dead bodies on every door it felt like a ticking time bomb just waiting for someone to appear

We heard gunshots from upstairs cause us too look at each before nodding

D took the lead up the stairs where we could hear screaming
We continued up more stairs
Before someone appears

I grabbed one by the helmet pulling him down the stairs before shooting him when I turn around to help D I'm been thrown down the stairs along with them feeling my arm sting

"Elena dunk"

I dunk just as D shoots the other guy

Another one comes at us D taking the lead and throwing him down the stairs before running down himself and chocking the guy when he finally ran out of air D took off his mask to reveal the ugliest white guy I've ever seen

He brought his hand down to help me get up

They called him dangerous but at that moment I knew he was my safe

"Cmon"

We went up a floor passing by the electrical box having a knowing idea that they didn't know the place as well as us and it would be harder for them to find their way around buying us time

The fire alarm went off and the lights begin flickering we could hear the men begin to panic

I stayed around the corner as D slit a man throat before calling me over we kept walking slowly in the dark waiting for the lights to flicker on before killing another man

One after another

D pulled me into an open apartment

"On 3 we're gonna come out shooting you understand I need you to cover me"

"Yes I got you"

We came out looking at around 10 guys while D shot them all I cleaned up who ever he missed seeing their lifeless body fall to the ground

We heard more gun firing upstairs

We ran upstairs being as quiet as we could

"D I'm scared"

"I ain't gonna let anything happen to you"

And he meant it Dmitri could set fire to the entire world but I knew he would never let a flame touch me

14 floor

I ran to Nya apartment quietly seeing the door open already

I peaked in with D keeping watch to see a man in armor walking towards the back room

I ran at him jumping on his back putting him in a chokehold he begin shooting everywhere as he panicked before slamming me into the wall

I slowly fell off him as I watched D walk up to him grabbing him before repeatedly slamming his head into a wall

"Touch her nd I'll break your fucken neck"

He did just that

He helped me up pushing me behind him as we walked to the back room seeing a another man already on his way over there

D shot him

"wtf is going on I'm confused"

The relief I felt in my chest hearing Dolores voice

"Nothing to be confused about"

D and I entered the room

"D"

"You aight?"

Nya walked up to D giving him a hug

The jealous I felt in my chest was an understatement

It felt the same I had never been in the same room as the both of them since we were 16 and Nya told me he asked her out how betrayed I felt knowing he had told me he loved me the night before I distanced myself after that slowly ghosting both of them as the years went on and they broke up D got into his business and Nya pushed him away for that I begin to rekindle my friendship with Nya it never being quite the same but I never truly got over the betrayal I felt with Dmitri he never apologized I never forgive him never forgot we kinda just both existed

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Nya pulled me into a hug

"Thanks for coming Lena"

"No worries im so glad you okay"

I returned her hug before pulling away

"Unit 3 what's ur street rep on the 14th" we heard a voice saying coming from the walkie talkie "3 come in"

"Stay here"

D left the room to go and check

"Is there anyone else here"

"Yes in the closet"

"You'll be joining them Nya, Elena"

"Why what's up?"

"Hell no this is my fight as much as it is yours"

"No time to explain your going in"

"Well make time"

"They're coming"

"Don't move don't make a sound no matter what you hear alright"

"Yes"

"No im helping you D"

"Elena I can't have you dying"

"You jump I jump remember"

When we were 8 I made D watch titanic with me like 1000 times that was our reference

"Elena I've loved you since we were kids I can't have you getting hurt"

"What"

"Grab her Isaiah keep her inside"

Before I could react Isaiah had his arms around me as Nya joined D outside the closet closing the door

I pushed against Isaiah in the darkness of the closet

"Elena if you don't stop your gonna get us all killed just relax"

I pushed his hands off me sliding my back down the wall as I sat on the floor hugging my legs to my chest

One gunshot

"Get down"

I heard D yell followed by a continuous gun fire

I could see fire coming towards us through the cracks in the closet door

I covered my head with my hands as everyone else in the closet huddled

I opened the closet door to see D on the floor with Nya hovering above him before getting up when we saw him

"Help him up"

Isaiah helped Nya carry D

While I walked behind them slowly taking in all the damages

Siren

We heard the siren that rung at the beginning of the purge ring again

"It's over?"

"For now"
