Good afternoon 😊. I hope all is well with everyone.  Thank you for picking  this book.

She walked out of the room in a fit of rage. Clearly  the voice of her mother was heard behind her, which she chose to block out.
She couldn't  believe  they had the audacity to walk back  into their life like it was that easy. She decided to ditch her car and walk for a bit until she got to anywhere, somewhere, she could be okay.
"Thump!"The sound of someone hitting  a wall was resounding through her ears.  She looked up to complain, only to be met with his face.
Demitri looked down at the person who bumped into him. He was already  in a bad mood from the previous  events of the morning. The painting  equipment he just bought fell on the floor, creating along with it,another ear wrecking sound.

"Ты слепой, смотри, куда идешь!» (Are you blind, watch where you are going ). he spat out at her with little  patience  in his voice. He expected  her to say something  cheeky  back, but she just got on her knees  and helped him collect  his things.  After everything  was off the ground  and back into  his bag, he lifted  his head only to be greeted with her absence.
«хорошо, что она все равно ушла». (Whatever, it's good she's  gone anyway) he sighed before getting  up and walking to his apartment. Coming to the elevator before reaching his apartment, a girl whom he had been trying  to avoid  for months  walked over to him. He immediately  became uncomfortable as the heavy  smell of her perfume flooded his nose. He just ignored her like he always  did  and literally jumped  to the elevator when it finally  opened. While there, he suddenly  remembered  that his brother  would be calling  him any time soon. As much as he wanted to relax, he knew deep down what his brother was coming  to ask of him. Entering his apartment, his only hope was that the conversation  wouldn't  be too awkward .

"Ring! Ring!" With shaking  hands, he picked  up his phone. Checking  the time and name of the caller, he realised that it was now three in the afternoon. Upon answering, a rough voice came from the other line.
«Привет, братишка, я знаю, ты знаешь, почему я позвонил». (Hello, little  brother, I  know you know why I called you) Dimitri just pressed his lips  together in a straight  line and clenched on the glass of water in his hands. ( I know you are still doing your job, but all the people  who needed  to be killed are dead. You can't  neglect your  responsibility to your family and to the mafia. I'll see you in Russia  this Friday,  see you soon, brother. ) With that, he ended  the call.
Dimitri threw the glass in his hand at the wall. He watched it break into a million  pieces  before running  his hand through his hair. A thing he normally did when he was frustrated.  He didn't  want to go back even  though he knew  he had  to. Deep  down, he knew that his brother was just trying  to look out for him. Getting a broom to sweep away  the pieces of glass on the ground. A ding sound followed by a vibration in his pocket redirected  his attention  back to his phone. Two notifications  popped up on the screen, one frome his brother about the details of his flight and another from a customer on a new painting order. Letting out a heavy sigh, he turned off the phone and went toward his painting  room to start the order.
He desperately  needed  the distraction from all the crazy emotions  he was feeling. Setting up his canvas and turning  on his playlist, he  soon found  himself lost in his own world.
