the grandmaster's secret

you had just finished getting orders to a table when you glance to the entrance seeing kuai liang and tomas come in. they glance to you and you offer a small smile and wave, to which they both wave back in response and go to find a table as you deliver the order.

one of your co-worker friends came over just as you handed the slip of paper to madame bo, who was cooking in the back, as your friend asks, "you gonna handle table five? it's your scary friends..." you giggle slightly, "they're not scary, at least tomas isn't really...you just have to get to know them." "maybe another time, go take their orders."

you lightly chuckle and agree to go handle their table as you quickly make your way over to them. you grab your notepad and greet them, "good evening, i hope you two are doing well?" "we are y/n, thank you...i assume you're doing well too?" "of course, now will it be your usuals?" they both nod and tomas adds, "can you add bi-han's too? he should be here shortly."

you quickly write down the orders as you ask, "i was just about to ask where he was." kuai responds this time, "you know he's always busy-" "yes i know...being grandmaster must be...tiring." "i'm sure it is, but he handles it well."

you finish writing and look up as you nod to the men, "well i'll have these out to you soon." they nod in response as tomas softly smiles, "thank you y/n." you smile in response as you slightly bow to them and make your way back to the kitchen area...

you grab the various dishes for table 5 and make your way over to them, instantly taking note that bi-han was now there seated on a side by himself.

you quickly reach the table and begin handing the dishes out, starting with tomas, then kuai, and finally bi-han...your eyes meet his, "will you be waiting for me after work again?" "only if you want me to." "of course i do," you look back to everyone else as you sweetly say, "enjoy your meal." tomas happily says, "we will!" and you give a kind smile to him...

you look back to bi-han and see his icy eyes glaring at tomas, you softly smile and place a kiss on his cheek...the man looks slightly surprised at first, but quickly collects himself and looks to you as you add, "i'll see you later." he only nods and begins to eat.

as you walk away you hear various tables whisper about the two of you...all of which confused on how a girl as sweet as you could end up with someone like him...you always ignore their whispers though, they didn't know what he was really like and never would understand him like you did.

you cleaned your final table and smile to yourself as you realize you can finally see bi-han. you rush out the front door and find him seated on a bench by himself with his mask on his face per usual...the glow of the setting sun shining on him beautifully.

once you're close enough to him you softly say, "i hope i didn't keep you waiting too long...i was trying to hurry while still making sure everything was tidy." bi-han stood before you and slipped your hand in his as the two of you begin to walk down the path, "i've told you before, you don't have to rush even if i'm waiting...waiting on you seems to be the only time i can get a break from the lin kuei..."

you sadly smile and want to change the gloomy atmosphere as you lightly try to shove him, "i don't give you a break from them? or is it tiring going out with me as well?" you look up to him as you catch him roll his eyes while he continues to look ahead and walk, "don't say things like that. you know you're important to me...and i would do anything for you."

you smile and lean onto him as you continue down the path, you softly spoke, "i know...i'm only teasing..." he hums in response and the two of you finally make it to your usual spot.
