Once my mate ran away, I ran, looking for him. Three days later I was still looking, hoping that I'll find him.
"Haley, get back to the pack house." Alpha Mason ordered.
"I'm not stopping until I find my mate," I answered.
"No. You need to come back, now!" he yelled over the pack link.
I whimpered at his order and turned around. When I made it to the clearing where I first found my mate, I stopped and howled in anger and frustration. I then shifted into my human form. It's been three days since I've last been human, so I was a bit shaky. I got into my clothes and walked back to the house, not caring about the tears running down my face, or the sobs that racked my body.
When I got to the house, Henry, Lisa, Sammy, and Oliver were there waiting for me. When Lisa saw me, she ran up and hugged me tightly. Pretty soon, I was engulfed in a big group hug. At their signs of love for me, I cried even harder.
"What's wrong?" Lisa asked me.
"M-my mate ran away from me and I can't find him!" I cried.
"Wait wait wait, hold up. You found your mate?!" Sammy asked.
Only Samantha would think of boys in a time like this.
"Yeah, but he jus-"
"What did he look like?" Sammy interrupted.
"Samantha!" Oliver yelled, his green eyes flashing.
Sammy whipped her head over to look at him, her black hair following. "What?"
"That's not important right now."
"It's okay, I'd want to know if it was somebody else's mate," I interjected.
"So, what does he look like?" Sammy repeated, her brown eyes filled with wonder.
"He's really cute. He has dark brown messy hair and electric blue eyes. He has the cutest smile that can melt any girl's heart, and..." I trailed off.
"And?" Lisa repeated.
"I'm glad he's mine," I confessed, blushing a nice shade of red.
"Look! She's blushing!" Sammy yelled.
"How cute!" Oliver gushed. That made me blush even more.
"Come on, guys. What is this, preschool? Let's see if we can find him." Henry said.
"Yeah! Let's go find...what's his name?" Sammy asked.
"I don't know. I couldn't ask before I shifted," I said.
"Wait, you met him when you shifted?!" Lisa gasped.
"Yeah," I affirmed.
"It really is true love." Sammy murmured.
"Does this really matter right now? We just need to find her mate!" Henry growled.
"You're right, sorry. Let's start looking," Sammy sighed.
"Okay, Lisa, Oliver, you guys go looking on foot. Sammy, Haley, and I will shift and look from there. Haley, do you know what he smells like? So that we know what to look for."
"Yeah. He smells like cinnamon apple," I reported, ducking my head in embarrassment.
"Okay, let's get some extra clothes, then we'll head out," Henry commanded.
Henry, Sammy, and I went and got our extra clothes, then we all headed out to the forest.
"Where did you meet him? That will be the best place to start." Henry asked me.
