I think I had a good childhood. Think. My parents were LOADED so I didn't have to attend college or anything because I already had enough money to get whatever I wanted. I had high quality clothing, latest gaming systems, and a bedroom that had its own bathroom, living room, and walk-in-closet.

Life was always something I contemplated when I first woke up. It was easy to get lost in thought while staring out of the window of the modern mansion.

I had a blue and green comforter pulled up to my chin to keep myself warm. I studied my room and how the walls were a light green and my canopy bed was looking messy. I glanced out the window and studied the trees. The red and yellow leaves swayed gently in the August breeze.

The mansion was surrounded by a hill covered in trees and was only accessible through a gate that was in town.

I had been homeschooled by what my parents called "the best." I didn't bother to remember the teacher's name because she just scolded me anytime I did something the slightest bit wrong. She only taught me this past year because my previous private teacher retired.

knock knock

"Come in." I shouted through the closed door that led to my room. My room connected to the living room and then the living room connected to the bathroom. My room was bigger than necessary.

"Good morning Corey!" Daren, one of our workers greeted me.

"Morning." I replied groggily.

"You might want to get out of bed and get dressed."

"Why is that?"

"You're meeting the Benns' today?"

"Oh s- yeah I forgot."

"Glad I reminded you." he grinned before closing all the doors again and leaving through the main one.

I had completely forgotten that meeting the Benns' was today. I had been so nervous because I'd never been in a romantic relationship before. I hadn't really left the mansion much and I didn't have any friends.

I took a shower and put on a green suit -- for good luck. I had combed my hair so that it fell in front of my face perfectly. I hurried down the double staircase to the front door, where both of my parents were standing.

"Good morning Corey," my parents greeted.

"Morning!"

"Are you excited about meeting Dianna today?" my mother asked.

"Yeah, I am. I can't wait to see what she's like." I responded.

"I'm glad," she said when there was a knock at the door.

Daren opened it to show the family of four standing there in order by height.

Mr. Benn was in the far back, wearing a blue suit. Mrs. Benn was to his right, wearing a lavender dress. Then there were two children in front of them. The girl, who I assumed to be Dianna, had her light brown hair in a braided bun and a warm yellow dress on. There was a boy beside her who looked like the male version of her. His light brown hair was puffy in front of his face and his cheeks were a bright pink. The whole family was very pale, but the boy had some color to his face.

They all stepped in one by one, after the other, until they were standing in front of me and my mom and dad.

"Hello." my father greeted them.

"Greetings!" Mr. Benn responded. "I was looking forward to meeting your family today! Hello Mrs. Summers and Corey."

"Hi!" I greeted back.

Dianna looked disinterested in the greetings.

"So," Mr. Benn continued, "This is my wife, Eva, and my daughter, Dianna, and her twin, Daniel."

Daniel gave a quick grin and waved. When he smiled, his cheeks got pinker and a dimple formed on his left cheek. It made my heart skip a beat. I waved back, trying not to get lost in the way he smiled.

"Nice to meet all of you," my father said kindly. "This is my wife, Nellie, and son Corey."

I waved over at the family across from us.

"Corey," my father called my name. "Why don't you take Dianna and Daniel for a little tour of the house, would you?"

"Sure!" I replied and motioned for the twins to follow me.

They took their shoes off and them tagged along while I showed them the house. We went through every room and then I decided to show them my room. Our parents were talking in the dining room, so it would seem like eavesdropping if we hung out in the kitchen or sitting room.

I led them through the main door to my room and watched as the twins glanced around, trying to take in their surroundings.

I sat on the couch and took the TV remote, looking up at Daniel and Dianna who were standing awkwardly at the entrance. I motioned for them to come over and sit by me on the couch. The twins took both side of me, Dianna to my left and Daniel to my right.

"What do you want to watch?" I asked them.

"How about Disney," Dianna suggested before she picked up the book I had resting on the end table.

"What movie?" I asked.

"Hmmmmmm," Daniel thought. "How about...Moana."

"That's great, I love Moana!" I tried to sound excited.

"Cool! Moana is probably my 2nd." Daniel said.

"What is your 1st?" I asked.

"Hercules."

"Oh man. I forgot about that one. Moana is one-hundred percent my favorite. Hercules would be my 3rd and my second would be Mulan."

"Ohhh I love Mulan! That's also my second favorite."

"Cool!"

We sat in silence as we watched the first half of the movie. I took quick glances at Daniel for seconds at a time, just to study his face. He had a perfect jawline and a perfect button nose. His light brown hair reminded me of mine, but my hair was a dark brown. Daniel was also taller than I was. I was 5'9 so he was probably about 6'3. He caught me looking at him once and just grinned the smile that showed his dimple. I felt butterflies form in my stomach. I couldn't believe that a man so perfect was sitting just inches away from me.

The movie was eventually over and he turned towards me.

Dianna had fallen asleep so it was just me and him.

"Can I have your number?" he asked.

"Sure," I handed my phone to him.

He put in his number and named himself 'Daniel.' Then he added another number and named it 'Dianna'.

"Thanks," I said as I took my phone back.

He gave me his and I put in my name.

I looked at his orange phone case. It had a little cartoon orange cat on the back of it.

"Cute sticker." I told him as I handed his phone back.

"Thanks," he said, reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a black cat that matched the orange one. "Here, you can have this." He handed the cat sticker to me.

I peeled off the backing and stuck it to my phone, making sure to smooth out all the air bubbles.

He held his orange phone beside my green one and grinned at the matching cats.
