"Okay but you have to hurry."

I was talking to Daniel through the phone, who was headed over to the house.

It was December now and snowing terribly. "I-"
his connection cut him off.

I heard the quiet roar of his car pull into the driveway.

He dashed inside, not waiting for Daren to open the door for him.

He took his shoes off and then ran upstairs to meet me.

I sat in my chair as he paced back and forth.

"Are you good?" I asked. His anxious behavior had gotten worse in November but now I was a little worried.

"I'm fine." he grumbled.

I shifted awkwardly on my sofa while I waited for him to finish his thought process.

He eventually gave up and came to rest his head on my shoulder.

"My parents are going to kill me." he blurted.

"Why?" I asked, putting my arm around him.

I was always the one holding him, even though he was about 4 inches taller.

"I can't make it back home today because of the snowstorm."

"Okay, you can just stay with me." I smiled at him to see his reaction.

"Okay. Yes. I know that and love that. But! My parents don't know." he explained.

"Could you call them?" I questioned.

"Oh yeah. I could."

He pulled out his phone and tapped around until he called his parents.

He stood up and started pacing again as the phone was ringing.

I heard some muted mumbling and then I saw Daniels expression change.

He seemed a little more upset by whatever the person on the phone just said.

"Yes, I know mom. I promise it won't happen again." he sighed into the phone.

There was more mumbling from the phone.

"Yeah. Sure. Okay. Love you too. Bye." he finished and hung up the phone.

He came back into his usual place in my arms and put his hand on my chest. His eyes were closed.

I guessed that worrying had gotten him too tired.

His sleeping rhythm was set so I knew that he was dead asleep.

I pulled out my phone and looked at the back.
We had matching reindeer now.

Mine was green and his was orange. He ordered them to be all colors that way we each got one with our favorite color.

My reindeer's name was Cupid and his was Comet.

I eventually dozed off too, holding Daniel closer.

I woke when Daren opened the door and shook me awake.

"Sir Corey, your snow clothes are clean and ready when you are. One's for Sir Daniel are also ready."

"T-Thanks Daren." I whispered groggily.

I moved a little and it woke Daniel up. He blinked slowly at me, still not moving his hand off my chest.

"Wanna play in the snow?" I asked.

His eyes lit up immediately.

"Yes!" He exclaimed. He got up and bounced around excitedly as I took him to get dressed in our snow clothes.

"Have fun, boys!" my mother called after me.

Surprisingly, the extra clothes we had stored fit Daniel perfectly.

I went and tested the snow to see if it was snowman snow or sledding snow.

As I was trying to make a snowball, I felt something hit my back.

I turned around to see Daniel grinning at me. His already rosy cheeks were now fully red.

I hurled the snowball I was holding at him. It hit his stomach but he didn't react.

"Damn. You suck at throwing." he snickered.

I grabbed another handful of snow and ran towards him, aiming for his face.

He dodged it in time and grabbed another handful of snow.

I tried to get away but the snow was too deep and I fell down.

He took his snowball and stuck it in the hood of my jacket.

"Daniel!" I jokingly complained

He smiled at me, showing his teeth. I flipped on my back and felt the coolness of the deep snow surround my body.

Daniel came to lay beside me. He started making a snow angel so I grabbed his hand and made one too.

Later, we built a snowman and named it Frank.

Daniel said that is what he would name his dog if he was allowed to have one.

We headed back inside and got dressed into clean clothes.

That afternoon, we played on the Nintendo Switch and watches some movies.

Our shoulders were always touching.

Being close to him for about 4 months made me realize that I did like him more than a friend. I didn't know how he felt so I didn't want to do anything irrational. He made me forget all about my troubles and gave me a safe place. I wish that I could be with him instead of being in a homophobic, set-up-marriage family.

He slept over and the next day we celebrated Christmas together with his family.
