The explanation went on for quite a while till we had to order another 2 pints of lager.
" well there's that then, call her ya' pussy" Freddy instructed.
" I don't know man... I mean i just broke up with my ex recently.... I just don't want to rush things that are not even certain yet"
" It's an opportunity bruv, an opportunity to grow and learn from the experience of breaking up with a toxic ass bitch. Anyway that girl, Mina; she sounds like she's really into you. Here's an idea, she wants to take you out on a " date " to repay your kindness of sorts doesn't that tell you something? Like bruv, she wants to see you again badly. So why don't you call her and meet up for drinks or dinner again? Get close to her. " Freddy suggested to me.
I just continued drinking my second pint of lager not saying anything in reply to Freddy but in my mind, his words kinda stuck on. Pretty soon I had to leave but before I parted ways with Freddy, he gave me one last word of advice,
" choose someplace fancy bruv, someplace decent but you don't get drunk. Let her get drunk again and let her sleep over at your flat again. Repeat whatever you both already went through but this time less awkward and more interaction. Ya' can always call me bruv, what are friends for right? " I nodded and shaken the hand of my only friend in London and told him to take care of himself as I was gonna make my way back to the hotel.
I hailed down a taxi and gave Freddy a bro hug and got into the cab, I could see Freddy waving to me from the rear window as I left.
" are you a tourist sir?" asked the taxi driver who seemed like he was in his 40s.
" not really sir, i fly for a living actually so this isn't my first time in London and I have a friend who is a local here in Westminster." I replied politely.
" you're a pilot sir? " he asked again.
" I wish HAHA I'm a flight steward for first class and business class passengers. Before this I was doing my military service for about 5 years to pay off student debts and I was actually sent to the UK to attend a military academy here sir" I answered his question.
" that's an interesting career journey young sir" he got back to me.
I just smiled in response and looked out the window. London was really beautiful at night, the architecture was very eye catching and modern with a colonial Era twist and it reminded me of home. I plugged into my Bluetooth wireless earphones and connected them to my Samsung S20.

For the entire journey back, I just admired the nightlife of London and soon I dozed off....
Until the taxi driver woke me up,"Sir, we have arrived at your hotel. It's 25pounds sir." The taxi driver checked the taxi meter and I paid the taxi charge.
The taxi door was opened for me by the hotel staff at the taxi drop off/pickup point and I walked up the flight of stairs to the lift which was on the left corridor on the side of the reception counter. Just perfect timing, the door opened the moment I reached the lift. I pressed my floor number and then waited for the door to close. As the door was closed, I reached into my left pocket to retrieve my phone and room key card. The door finally opened on the 4th floor and I walked to my room, waved the key card at the sensor and opened the door. Upon entering my room, I slammed my door ; kicked out my shoes off and jumped on my bed. I went to my phone charger and charged my phone but I was so tired after a long day that I knocked out cold....
I only woke up the next day at 3pm and immediately took a quick shower, got dressed into my Singapore Airlines uniform and packed my stuff into the luggage including the spirits I bought from Freddy. I exited the room at close to 4pm and checked out of the hotel. I immediately went to the airport first even though I was to report in at 8pm. I took a taxi from the hotel to the airport and made my way to Singapore Airlines staff lounge. I took a light brunch at the staff pantry there and slept at the lounge for the remainder of the time. I got another long flight later on but I'm going to have 2 days leave for fatigue management of the crew. When I woke up I made my way to the boarding gate and met Captain Johari at the aircraft door and greeted him. The flight checks were now underway and I was preparing to receive passengers once again.
