(Y/N): Right Back At Ya! A Meta Knight x Reader Book

Chapter 3:

A/N: If you've seen the anime, you know why I chose the song attached ;)

Episode 3 is one of my favorites. I really hope I can give it the justice it deserves. And yes, concerning the last chapter, Tokkori is now terrified of (Y/N) and does not live in Kirby's house. He is, however, allowed to visit occasionally.

~On with the story~

That night, (Y/N) had a strange dream. She was in the courtyard of the castle waiting for the three knights to arrive. After a short while, they did, and she greeted them. They exchanged confused looks and began to murmur amongst themselves. Eventually, Meta Knight approached her in a way that made her shiver.

"You shouldn't have come here."

The woman was standing there, motionless and speechless. She didn't understand why her mentor was so hostile all of a sudden. "I don't understand, sir. What-"

"I know what you want and why you're here. Do you really think I could ever love you?" His voice was dripping with pure venom as Sword and Blade snickered in the background. (Y/N) could feel her tears fall down her face.

"Pathetic. Getting emotional from the truth. That alone makes you weak. You mean nothing to me, (Y/N)." He raised Galaxia to strike her...

~Night terror~

The human bolted upright in her bed, tears still flowing down her face. Her mind and heart were racing. All she could do was sit there and wait until she calmed down enough to think straight.

After about 10 minutes, she got out of bed and went to the kitchen for water. The oven clock read 3:45. She sighed.

God damn it.

(Y/N) was wide awake at the time, so after finishing her water, she decided to take a walk around the castle. The hallways were dimly lit, save for a few candles here and there. It was incredibly quiet; the only noise was from her footsteps. She wandered aimlessly through the castle as she sang to herself.

I have come here, hardly knowing the reason why...
In my mind, I've already imagined
Our bodies entwining, defenseless and silent...

She snapped back to reality when she heard a new noise. It sounded like a pebble rolling over cobblestones. It was then that she felt a chill down her spine.

Someone was watching her.

(Y/N) had nothing to use as a weapon. All she could do was either use her fists or her words to fend off the potential threat. She glared at the spot where she heard the noise, her hands ready, when she heard the sound of beating wings. She whipped around while throwing a punch, but was stopped by someone grabbing her hand.

Meta Knight.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry..." (Y/N) managed to blurt out in embarrassment. The knight chuckled at her reaction.

"Don't worry, it's fine. But why are you walking around by yourself at this hour?" He asked in such a casual manner.

How long had he been following me?

"Uh, I had a night terror. It's nothing to be concerned about. I was too shaken up to go back to sleep, so I just decided to take a walk." Her voice relaxed as she explained. The blue knight nodded.

"Very well." He turned to leave, but he looked over his shoulder to say something else. "By the way, you have a beautiful singing voice." He chuckled to himself as he walked away.

(Y/N) stood there in a daze. She had to make sure that she wasn't dreaming still before going back to her room. On the way, she couldn't help but smile brightly.
