"i'm a what?!"

"you're a dreamscaper." gyuvin looked at his mom, confused. he had heard the stories, but he never thought he was one.

"yujin's one as well." whispered his mom. "but he's more powerful. you can only do it if you're sleeping, but he can do it awake and sleeping."

gyuvin's mind raced with questions and disbelief. the term "dreamscaper" echoed in his thoughts, mingling with the confusion within him—his mom's revelation about yujin being one, too, added layers of complexity to his understanding.

as he processed the implications, a mix of emotions surged through him—awe, curiosity, and a tinge of fear. the idea that he possessed this extraordinary ability, one he had never consciously experienced, left him feeling both exhilarated and apprehensive.

"is this considered a good thing or a bad thing?"

"well, i say it is, but ask anyone else, and they think that dreamscapers are probing people's minds for information."

gyuvin pondered his mother's words, weighing the implications of being a dreamscaper in a world where perceptions varied widely. the conflict between his understanding and the perceptions of others cast a shadow of doubt over his newfound identity.

in his mind, being a dreamscaper held the promise of exploration, of delving into the depths of consciousness to uncover truths hidden within the recesses of the mind. it was a gift—an opportunity to unravel mysteries and unlock the boundless potential of the human psyche.

yet, as his mother hinted, not everyone shared his perspective. the idea that dreamscapers were viewed with suspicion, perhaps even fear, by some segments of society troubled him. the idea that his abilities might be perceived as invasive, as a violation of privacy or autonomy, gnawed at the edges of his conscience.

"don't tell yujin until he's 12 years old like you are right now!"

"i told you that you needed to approach him with caution." said matthew, reading a book. "i don't even know why you apologized if you've already dreamscape'd him."

gyuvin threw a pillow at him and got out of his chair. he had forgotten entirely about matthew's knowledge of him being a dreamscaper. but that didn't stop him from believing he was in the right.

"what do you think he meant by this?" he said, showing matthew the text messages. although gyuvin had already made a final opinion of ricky, he still wondered why the boy chose certain words.

"he's saying you were right. now, go check on your brother.. i can hear him crying." gyuvin nodded as he closed the door and walked towards his brothers' room.

"yujin?" he said, opening the door slightly. "is everything okay?" gyuvin was met with yujin grabbing his hair while rocking back and forth.

"the dreams! that person has horrible dreams, gyuvin!"

"he must've accidentally dreamscaped again."

gyuvin's heart sank as he witnessed his brothers' distress. he sat beside him on the bed and sighed. "what did you see?"

gyuvin noticed how yujin's breathing steadied as he leaned into his comforting presence, his gaze fixed on the shadows dancing across the walls. with a heavy sigh, he began to recount the fragments of his nocturnal ordeal, the echoes of a stranger's torment etched into the recesses of his mind.
