Slow tunes | 06.1

Sitting beside you was none other than Ace, sitting in the drivers seat.

Driving through the city inside his car, you gazed outside the window, seeing dull colored buildings, painted with a lot of windows, and bright architecture.

Coming to a stop, Ace didn't let go of his hand on the steering wheel, and fixated his gaze on his side mirror.

You didn't really notice, but he was stealing sneaky glances at you, and he found himself smiling.

The silence wasn't really drowning you, or suffocating you. You never tend to worry about how awkward it would be, because you were nonchalant in general.

Still looking at the window, your gaze shifted to him, observing him a little, with your mouth slightly opened.

The sun's light painted his face like an angel. Tints of the sun plastered on his face that made his freckles visible, and his eyes glowed.

Your eyes widened at the sight, and looked away swiftly. "Oh my days.." you pinched your nose at the thought.

He looked at you, tilting his head in confusion. "Is something wrong? WAIT- Hold on, I'll turn some tunes on." He offered, reaching his free hand out to the touch pad in front of him.

Connecting his phone to the car, he tapped 'play' on the screen, and sudden music started to play.

A screen appeared on the touchpad, and a Spotify tab appeared playing the music.

His eyes widened, and his reflex clicked the button multiple times in a hurry. "WAIT—"

"MAMI SOY TU VAQUERO, DIME VAQUERO MAMI, MAMI SOY TU VA-" the music came to a pause, after blasting it on full volume.

You stared at the touch pad, and looked at Ace slowly. You could feel your eyes closing, and your mouth about to let a laugh out.

Instead—a 'pfft-' came out of your lips, making the dark-haired man jump at your reaction.

"Sorry about that.. I forgot I had that on, I was driving my brother back last night." He remarked, letting a groan out and tilting his head back.

"Don't worry. I just didn't expect it." You smiled at him with a chuckle.

His gaze fixated on you for a second, and averted his gaze somewhere else. "Right." He cleared his throat.

After waiting for the overpass, his foot stepped on the pedal again, and the car started to move again.

With his free hand, he lended you his phone. "Here." He offered.

You turned to look at him with a confused expression on your face, and raised and eyebrow. "What?"

"Play some music." He smiled, still lending the phone to you. You took it from his hand slowly, feeling the tip of your fingers touch his for a second.

He nodded in response, and kept his gaze on the road. Your stomach dropped when you held his phone on your hands.

Your hands weren't shaking, but your mental state was screaming for help. Your stomach felt weird, and it always drops for a second when he turns to look at you.

You ignored the thoughts of it, and focused and scrolling on his phone in Spotify to find a song.

Typing on his keyboard, you smiled a little at this song and pressed play.

He glanced at you, and smiled to himself, shifting his gaze once again to the road.

"In my rose-tinted dreams, wrinkled silk on my sheets I don't see nobody but you.." The song played.

You closed your eyes a little and mentally hummed to the song, enjoying this little car ride you and him were having.

Who knew this side of you would be brought out by someone? And a guy at that.

Driving away, with the tunes slowly soothingly sways you, and him.
