The moon hung low in the ink-black sky as Madison and Will strolled back from the store, unaware that shadows slinked behind them. The night seemed ordinary, but the air hummed with an unsettling tension.

As they approached the turn by the alley, a sudden chill swept through them. Will's instincts tingled, and Madison, perceptive as ever, shot him a wary glance. Before either could voice their unease, a group of masked figures emerged from the shadows, each step calculated, each movement precise.

Madison's voice trembled, a whisper of foreboding, "Will, something's not right."

The masked figures, encircling them with the fluidity of predators, revealed glints of metal – the ominous glimmer of concealed weapons. Panic clawed at the edges of their composure.

"Well, well, what have we here?" said the unknown voice

With a swift and orchestrated motion, the figures closed in, and the alley transformed into a sinister theatre of shadows. Will's eyes darted, searching for an escape route, while Madison assessed their adversaries with determination.

In an instant, the situation escalated. A flicker of movement, and Will found himself immobilised, a vice-like grip restraining him. Madison, quick-witted and agile, lashed out with a calculated fury, but the other seemed to anticipate her every move.

"You thought you could outsmart us? Cute."

As the opposing force tightened their grip, a surge of adrenaline propelled Will into action. With a swift and unexpected manoeuvre, he broke free, pulling Madison with him. Their hearts raced in synchrony as they darted into the labyrinth of narrow alleys.

The shadows, undeterred, pursued with a relentless determination. The night became a symphony of echoing footsteps, each footfall a haunting reminder of their vulnerability.

Madison, gasping for breath, whispered urgently to Will, "we can't outrun them forever. We need a plan."

Will, his mind a whirlwind of possibilities, scanned their surroundings for a hidden refuge. The city, normally their sanctuary, had transformed into a perilous maze.

The night air pulsed with suspense as Will and Madison crouched in the shadows, breathless and unseen.

"Find them. We can't let them slip away."

As they turned a corner, hope flickered. Their path intersected with an unforeseen blockade – more masked figures, emerging like phantoms from the concealed folds of the alley. A shiver of realisation coursed through them; the shadows had orchestrated their capture with an intricate dance of anticipation.

Madison, her voice firm despite the circumstances: "Who are you, and what do you want?"

"Ah, the questions will be answered in due time. But first, you need to return what is mine"

Madison and Will soon found themselves seated in the cramped interior of the kidnapper's car. Tension hung thick in the air, but a subtle calm settled over Will, his posture remarkably relaxed. Madison, perplexed by the unexpected ease in the other's demeanour, shot him a quizzical glance.

She whispered, "Why do you look so calm? We're in the hands of these people."

Will met her gaze with a cryptic smile, and as their eyes locked, Madison's confusion deepened. It was then that she noticed a subtle, almost imperceptible gesture from Will – a flicker of his eyes toward a seemingly insignificant object.

Following his gaze, Madison discovered a nondescript accessory on Will – a seemingly ordinary wristband. Realisation dawned as she understood the depth of Will's strategic foresight.

Madison, her voice barely audible, "Is that...?"

Will nodded subtly, confirming her unspoken question. The wristband, an innocuous accessory, concealed a tracker. Will had deliberately led them into the kidnapper's clutches, orchestrating a plan to expose their pursuers.

Madison, her admiration tinged with amazement, whispered back to Will, "you planned this? To lead them to us?"

"I sent a discrete signal to Xavier. We needed to find out who's after the Rubie.. This was the only way. Sorry for dragging you in this but intelligence feels your like golden bait" said Will with a glint of determination and reassurance in his eyes

As the car rumbled through the labyrinthine streets, Madison's initial apprehension transformed into a quiet confidence. She nodded back at Will understanding his plan. The shadows that had sought to consume them now unwittingly played into the hands of a meticulous strategy.

"So, we play their game until our backup arrives?" said Madison as she whispered against the hum of the car

"Exactly. Let them believe they've won, but little do they know, we're leading them right into their own undoing." replied back Will

"Will, next time can we please run less?" said Madison in an exhausted whisper

The wristband, a beacon of hope in the face of uncertainty, silently transmitted their location to Xavier and the team.
