His First

12-Reunion

She once looked at the castle as her home, however, as she rode to the entrance all she could feel was fear. What would happen if she entered and Dracula ordered her death? Would he also kill Elizabeth?

She knew better than to enter through the front door, however, thanks to her years living in the castle she grew to know every secret entrance. 

With her hands, Katherine began pressing them on the walls and when she finally found a familiar loose piece she pressed it lightly. At that moment, a hidden door opens and the mother enters with her child in her arms. The hall was dark, dusty, and covered in spiderwebs. Rats infested the floor as the decayed corpses of her husband's enemies decored the walls and ground.

Elizabeth begins whining letting her mother know that she's already tired. 

"Shh, shh, I know sweetie. Just a little more," She whispers to Elizabeth before kissing her forehead.

When Katherine finally gets to the end she's met with a door that she pushes out of her way. 

"We're here, Elizabeth." Katherine smiled as she was now in her old bedroom. 

However, just when she entered her former bedroom the attack began. She hears Alucruad and his friends fight the vampire lords. Her daughter began crying unknowingly earning the attention of some guards. 

They slam the door open frightening the baby and a furious Katherine puts her down gently.

"Our lord, kicked you out, whore!" A guard yells as he and his partner show their swords.

One lunges at Katherine, however, she's quick to move aside and grab him by his neck before twisting it. She grabbed the sword as the other ran to grab her crying daughter. Katherine throws the sword to the guard's neck. As he lay gurgling and choking on his blood, Katherine rushed to her daughter and ran out of the bedroom.

As she ran, Katherine turned to look back only to be met with a firm back.

"Katherine?!" Issac gasped at seeing her in the under-attack castle with her daughter.

"Issac, where's Dracula?!" At that moment, one of Carmilla's soldiers is thrown to the wall before being ripped in half by Dracula.

Her husband turns to her and his eyes widen at seeing her with a baby in her arms.

"What are you going here?" He growls approaching the mother and her child.

"M-My lord right now is not a good time. We must head to safety. Including Katherine and the child." 

Dracula nods hesitantly walking in front of Katherine. They turn walking up the stairs only to be met with more attacks. Dracula and Issac fight, however, one of the men takes Elizabeth from a distracted Katherine and pushes the woman to the floor.

"NO!" Katherine yelled as the soldier held a knife close to her daughter.

"She's done this again for your good." The soldier tells a confused Katherine. 

As he raises his knife Dracula grabs his wrist and twists it. A crying Elizabeth falls from the soldier's grasp but is soon caught by her father. Dracula uncovers her face and when their eyes land on one another his daughter stops crying. 

He looks down at the child and his heart aches at the realization of her true parentage. This little girl is his. This babe in his arms is his child, and Katherine never betrayed him. 

Katherine runs to her husband and takes her daughter from his arms comforting Elizabeth. Dracula's tearful eyes meet Katherine's as he grabs a hold of her.
