Five months left till Lisa's death anniversary, and all the vampire lords have already come and to say Dracula was irritated was an understatement. They found the war senseless, especially since Dracula already had a wife! A wife whom they trusted only cause she was a vampire and not a mortal like Lisa. Not to mention, that Dracula seemed to be getting quite along with Katherine for the first time in centuries!
So, why still declare war on all mortals and have their food source exterminated? Even, Katherine was having second thoughts. She understood her husband still mourned for Lisa, however, why kill all mortals? Why not simply kill those who killed her?
She of course knew better and didn't share her thoughts with her husband which all he did nowadays was lock himself up in his study. Now, he rarely came to their shared bed or spent time with her. It hurt Katherine since her husband and she was already beginning to build a strong bond with one another.
Katherine walked down the stairs accompanied by guards who followed and irritated her. She hated being followed and practically checked on them instead of her husband. He practically makes her guard's job to check in on her for him!
As she walked to her bedroom Trevor called for her irritating her further since she just wanted to lie down in bed and rest. For weeks, she's been exhausted and sick. Not to mention, the arrival of all her fellow vampires had been draining her energy as she took up all her husband's paperwork!
"How can I help you, Trevor?" She asks with a hint of annoyance that doesn't go unnoticed by the man.
"Sorry, my lady I know you must be really tired. However, I've come to leave you this." Trevor takes out a flower bringing a soft smile to KAtherine.
"Thank you, Trevor. Anything else I can help you with?"
"I feel like I'm the one I should be asking that, my lady."
"Well, now that you do mention, is it possible for you to make me some tea?"
"Of course, my lady." Trevor smiles bowing down before rushing out of Katherine's presence.
Katherine sniffs the flower, delighted by the plants aroma and turns back to the whispering guards.
"You two are excused. Thanks for accompanying me." She thanks them as they both nod and Katherine enters her bedroom.
--------------------------
"What?"
"Trevor gave Katherine a flower."
"It's simply a flower."
"We don't think so, my lord. Our lady and Trevor have grown quite close. Especially, since she's fallen ill."
"For you both to say our lady is having an affair is considered treason." Issac spits at the guards who glare at him.
"Issac's right. My wife is capable of many things but betraying me I don't think so. You two are dismissed, make sure my wife is taken care of since she's sick, and also next time you or anyone else dares question my wife's loyalty I'll have you killed." Dracula growls to the guards who nod and exit his study.
"Is it true, Issac?"
"I've noticed they've grown closer, my lord. However, not a close bond where I believe Katherine would betray you."
"Keep an eye on her, Issac. If you find any evidence of them betraying my trust first come to me."
"Yes, my lord." Issac nods as he turns to leave Dracula's study.
Dracula bites his nail fearing that maybe his wife may be capable of actually betraying him. He has betrayed you so much he doesn't doubt she would jump at any slight opportunity to hurt him. Especially after his greatest betrayal.
--------------------------
"Please, my lady drink it."
"It smells horrible, Trevor." Katherine groaned as she held the cup of tea.
"I made your favorite tea, my lady. You love this tea and it usually helps you with your nausea."
Katherine takes another sniff disgusted at the odor of the tea she once loved so much. All of a sudden the need to vomit rushes her out of bed and to a bucket where she vomits her breakfast. Trevor held onto her hair while soothing her back comforting and calming the woman.
The door opens with Issac standing in the doorway and looking at the two of them confused.
"My lady, are you alright?" Issac asks approaching a still nodding and sick Katherine.
"Trevor, might calling for my husband?" Katherine asks Trevor who nods and leaves.
As she gets back up she falls and she's caught in time by Issac.
"My lady, are you sure you're alright?"
Katherine shakes her head tearing up and turns to Issac as he places her on her bed. At seeing her tears Issac closes her bedroom door afraid someone might see her in this vulnerable state.
"What's wrong, my lady?"
"Issac, promise you won't tell anyone not even my husband."
"M-My lady I can't-"
"Please, Issac! I know you've been very loyal to him, but now I need your loyalty more than ever. So, do you promise not to tell anyone?"
"I promise." He hesitantly nods.
"I believe I might be with child." Katherine tears up as the words finally leave her lips.
"I need you to confirm my suspicions, Issac."
"Whose the father?" Issac immediately asks as a confused and dumbfounded Katherine looks up at him.
"My husband, Issac! Who else?!"
"So, you and Trevor aren't?"
"What?! No! Trevor is only a friend to me! Why would I cheat on him?!"
"Well, my lord believes that-"
"Wait, Dracula thinks I'm cheating on him?" Katherine asks dumbfounded when Issac nods hesitantly.
Katherine tears up feeling betrayed by her husband doubting her loyalty and love.
