"YOU'RE FUCKING TRASH!" Kaylee yelled as she slammed into Gian's kart. "FUCK OFF, AT LEAST I DIDN'T PICK PRINCESS PEACH!"
"YOU SHOULD'VE PICKED BOWSER, BECAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE YOU, UGLY ASS BITCH!" Kaylee yelled. Gian threw a pillow at Kaylee's face as he drove straight past her and into the finish line."I WON!!" Gian yelled in celebration, throwing his arms up in the air. "YOU FUCKING CHEATED, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" Kaylee yelled just in time for Nathan to swing open the door as he launched his hard cover book straight at Kaylee's face.
"CAN BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT MARIO KART? WE CAN HEAR YOU FROM THE OTHER SIDE!" "Sorry," Gian said as he picked up his cup and drank the juice from it."What the hell is it with people throwing shit at my face!?" Kaylee said in confusion, sliding the book back at Nathan.
"I'm pretty hungry, so I'm gonna cook breakfast." Nathan says as he walks into the kitchen. Do you guys want anything?"
"We'll have whatever you're making," Gian said as he swerved to the left as Luigi and slammed into her. "Alright." Nathan said as he drizzled oil on the pan and juggled 4 eggs.
He cracked them all into the pan and started to baste the butter, sprinkling salt and pepper onto the eggs. He then let the eggs sit until the bottom were crispy and the yolk was warm but not cooked through.
While they were cooking, he buttered and toasted some bread as the fried eggs finally finished cooking, looking more perfect than ever. He placed the eggs on the now ready toast and served them to Kaylee and Gian."They're pretty good." Gian said after he takes a bite out of it. "Who knew Nathan Guab would be so good at cooking?" She said, already finishing half of her breakfast.
"So what can YOU cook?" Nathan asked judgmentally after swallowing a bite of his breakfast. "Alot, actuall—" The sound of a drill interrupted their their argument.*BRRR!!!!*
Julian walked into the door with some sort of hanging telephone station thing, as he drilled a hole the size of a charging port into their wall and inserted a walkie-talkie into the station.
"Julian, what the hell are you doing?" He looked at Nathan as he puts his goggles up. "I'm preparing us for more drastic measures. And it's also a very efficient way to contact each other throughout the building." "Fair enough," Nathan said, taking another bite.
"I've never had a Saturday without my parents," Nathan said thoughtfully as he bites into his egg-on-toast. "It's interesting to think about, until you.."
Kaylee looked at Nathan, as she raised an eyebrow, followed with a clearly confused but concerned, "Until you what?""Until you remember what actually happened to them." Nathan sighed as he looked at the early morning sunlight peeking through the window. It reminded him of simpler times. It's nearly gonna be a week after the blood moon started.
A scary thought flew through his head. "What if things never went back to normal?" Horrifying possibilities crowded his mind as he quickly shook them off. "Hey, Julian." "Yeah?" "We need to find out the origin of this blood moon. What originally happened."
"The government had to be behind this. They made it so the message wouldn't be believable. So that many would eventually die," Gian said as he slammed into Kaylee's kart.
"There's no way they tried to do that," Kaylee said as she threw a banana peel in front of him followed with an angry scream. "BROOO!"Gian continues, "The government would definitely do such a thing, but why? To lower the population or something? I mean, if that's the case, it definitely worked -- But I'm confused. This is just not necessary at all."
"And if it was the government.. How the hell did they do it?" Julian asked, as he hammered the last station in."I mean.. when my parents died, and we all left and came back, Drake found this little red crystal-shard-thingy in their place instead of them," Nathan said, finishing the first piece of egg-on-toast.
"These people that are dying.. they're turning into some kind of power source. I put it in my pocket.. but I think I must have lost it while we were running from Addison yesterday," Nathan said, taking a bite out of his second piece."What are we gonna do? That's probably some massive power source she can potentially use," Julian said as he dusted himself off, walking into the living room.
Julian pointed at his phone. "Speaking of the government.. weather apps are all updated to be able to show when the blood moon returns, which is just rubbing it in at this point. See?" He pointed to the weather at 9pm as it showed a red moon instead of a regular one."You're saying we can use the weather app to see when the blood moon isn't out?" Gian asked thoughtfully while finishing his piece of egg-on-toast. "Yeah, that'll be helpful," Nathan commented as he took a second bite.
"So, how do we plan to find out the truth?" Gian asked. "Honestly.. by going to places that I suspect could possibly where they hide this information," Nathan replied."The nearest clue we could probably find is at United Nations, so we might as well check that out first," Nathan said. "United Nations?? Do you know how RISKY that is!?" Julian commented.
"That's not the only candidate. We have alot of candidates, but there's one that catches my eye. The City College of New York."*In the planning room*
Nathan laid out a vintage-style map of the entirety of NYC on the table, as he pointed to Harlem.
"Near the Hudson River. It's a massive college with a castle-like look called 'The City College of New York.' It's sponsored by the government. But there's no reason for it to be that big. They have to be hiding something in there. Some secrets about the blood moon.""We also have United Nations, but that's too risky to go to. Maybe we'll try after we go here." Julian said.
"Sure. When do we go?" Gian asked. "Tomorrow. We could go to United Nations on Wednesday or Tuesday." Nathan said as he looked at the map.
"As soon as me and Julian finished setting up cameras and walkie talkie stations around the house.""So remember, if the walkie talkie beeps twice, that means someone's outside. Just to be safe from lunarists, and intruders," Julian said, a reminding tone in his voice.
"Who's gonna want to intrude a fully fortified base? We have 8 foot tall walls, an electric gate with a handprint systems, cameras, machine gun turrets, and more. We're fine. They'll be even more terrified once they realize kids did all of this," Nathan said smugly."Alright. Pretty good job, all of you! "So, we agree on tomorrow?" "Yeah." "Perfect. You guys go do whatever, I'm gonna go relax and read a book or something." "Alright!"
*A few hours later*
Nathan woke up, realizing he dozed off after relaxing and doing stuff around the house for about 5 hours. He looked at his digital clock on his bedside. 7:01 P.M.
His friends are in the living room playing on the Nintendo Switch, arguing about who has more skill at Smash Bros. Suddenly a noise rang throughout the house that made the commotion come to a halt.*Beep. Beep.*
The walkie talkie beeped twice as Nathan's heart stopped. He got up and looked through the window, and grabbed the beeping walkie talkie as he pressed a button. "Julian, do you copy? There's someone outside."
Julian answered over the walkie talkie. "Alright, I'm checking it out, just give me one second.." He got up as he slightly opened his barricade as he peeks through it, and he sees Lunarist Addison, who was just.. standing there.
Her eyes were a glowing red, as if they sort of reflected the moon's power. Her face couldn't clearly be seen because of the endlessly dark shadows from the night peering over her. She smiled at Julian from his window as she sped off."She found us."
