Gian watched his bat glisten in the living room's chandelier light. "You ready?" Kaylin asked him. "Yeah. Better make it count, I guess." "You're right," She said to Gian as she smiled at him. He put on his backpack, and they walked out of the house and into the car.
They sat down as Emma revved up the engine. "Don't forget to buckle up!" They strapped themselves in as she drove off.
*At the house*
Nathan watched the car drive off as he sighed. "Was that risky?" He asked. "No, they'll be fine," Alessandra assured him. "We can't keep sending people out without our help. The group's too small." "Don't worry, man!" Lorenzo says as he walks into the room.
"Why shouldn't I worry? This is a close-range mission, and Addison is somewhere in Woodside. She could be in the very we sent them to." Nathan says as he starts to pace around.
*In the car*
Emma parked at the mall as she turned off the engine. She took mags out of the car storage as she loaded them into her dual UZIs, which she just recently upgraded from dual pistols with the help of Julian.
Kaylin put her chainsaw over her back like a guitar case, and Gian loaded in his double barrel shotgun with shotgun shells. They walked into the mall and saw how empty it was, and immediately felt uncomfortable.
The stores' lights were flickering, and the main place's lights were completely off, leaving a rather eerie look for the mall. Emma wondered how much people died in the mall, but thought it best not to think about.
"I suggest we stay together," She said as she looked over nervously to Kaylin. "I'm not arguing with that. This place is freaky," She replied as she scanned the place for any possible threats.
They walked through the vast hallways of the mall as the stores laid empty. It felt like someone could jump out at them at any time. Finally, they reached Target.
The sign's logo flickered from red to gray as the store's lights were still on, somehow. The echo of their breathing throughout the once busy store felt like there were the spirits of massacred victims surrounding and roaming the mall. It felt rather haunted, and abandoned.
They grabbed carts as they started to grab things from the store quickly. None of them wanted to be in that store, not one bit. Kaylin, Emma, and Gian walked down the aisles and put things into their carts hurriedly.
Gian grabbed a couple things he knew the rest of them back home would enjoy. He did care about people. But sometimes he couldn't say the same for other people. Some were unappreciative about his humorous personality.
*FLASHBACK*
Gian sat in silence on the bus. He felt humiliated. Voices whispered among the kids as he looked back and saw some of them looking at him and pointing at him. He felt anger building up in his throat as suddenly he let it all go.
"Gian is so unfunny, am I--" "AMAAN, SHUT THE FUCK UP! IM FUCKING TIRED OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU! YOU DON'T HELP WITH SHIT! YOU'RE A FUCKING HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING, AND EVEN THOUGH YOUR FRIENDS DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, THEY DO."
"Wh--" "YEAH! FUCKING TELL CHRISTIAN, AND THE POPULAR KIDS, AND EVERYONE WHO'S FRIENDS WITH YOU WHAT YOU'VE DONE! HELL, I'LL TELL THEM MYSELF. I'LL EVEN FUCKING TELL YOUR PARENTS!"
Amaan stood there, now feeling the humiliation Gian felt. He sat in his chair as all eyes were on HIM now. Gian didn't feel this was enough for the things he's done to them. He wanted to hit him on the side of the head so knowledge could finally and freely flow through his brain for once.
