Tubbo woke up to a warmth in his body but a pain in his back. He let out a yawn and tried to reposition himself only to be held down by an unknown source. His surroundings were unrecognizable in his tiered state.

His bed felt incredibly uncomfortable then usual and it felt like he pushed off his blankets because he didn't feel them over him. Tubbo groaned, opening an eye. Frustrated soon turned into so many emotions he couldn't count, but one stood out from the rest.

Panic.

Without a second thought Tubbo ripped himself out of Ranboo's arms, something in any other circumstance he would never let happen. "Shit," He muttered, taking a look at his wristwatch. 2:48am.

Tubbo shook his head. "Shit, shit, shit, shit, no!" He cried, gripping on the strands of his messy hair.

"Hey, hey Tubbo. Are you ok?" Ranboo asked the distressed boy in a groggy voice. Tubbo shook his head again.

"Lani is gonna fucking kill me!"

"Who?" Ranboo questioned, never hearing him talk about that person...or really anyone now that he thinks about it.

Ranboo reached out to comfort him only to get pushed away. "Why didn't you wake me up?!" Ranboo quickly retracted his hand.

"Tubbo I-" Tubbo cut him off. "Ranboo you have no clue what shit you just got me into." Tubbo cried. "Fuck!"

"Tubbo, what are you talking about?" Ranboo had a good idea of what he was talking about but it didn't seem that big of a deal that he didn't get home on time. The kid was seven-teen years old, shouldn't his parents want him out of the house? Tubbo's panic is what really made him question his guess.

"For fuck sake, don't I look familiar to you?" Ranboo gave him a perplexed look. After some dead silence he shifted a hand to his face and groaned. This was a bit much to just wake up to.

"Yea, I figured I've seen you from high-" Ranboo caught himself. "secondary school or something."

Tubbo sighed. "Do you know Toby Smith, the boy with the face mask?" Tubbo wasn't going to say the thing Ranboo thinks he's going to say, right? That can't be, Ranboo can't be that stupid.

"What does this have to do with-"

"Because, he's me Ranboo! I'm Toby! God, how did you not fucking know?"

Ranboo went silent, his expression was unreadable. "My parents are fucking loaded, clean freak, lunatics! I'm not allowed outside more than fifteen minutes at a time, and when I do get outside I have to do this whole cleaning process to get back in. And all for what? Their irrational fear of dying? That's why this is a big deal Ranboo...But it's not like you could understand,"

Ranboo felt a mix of emotions and had many questions, but nothing came out of his mouth; too shocked by the new found knowledge.

Tubbo was Toby.

He remembers the brunette boy with the bright white mask covering his face. He remembers the small glances shared between the two in the hallways that soon turned into small smiles. He always felt bad for the boy seeing as he has no friends other than that one girl who he assumed was his sister because she had a mask too. Ranboo's friends quickly caught on to what Ranboo was thinking and stopped him immediately, telling him random rumors and to stay away from him. Ranboo didn't put up a fight, after all it wasn't that important. He just wanted to be nice.

"I'm- I'm jealous of you! You're free, you get to see the world, meet new people. God, what I would give to be in your position, and yet you seem to be wasting it away. You don't understand how lucky you are."
