Lani's smirk stayed on her face as she leaned against the doorway, Tubbo stood confused. Something about her face just didn't fit with what she said. "Of course I do, he's my friend."Lani laughed thinking he couldn't possibly be that dence. "Tubbo I don't care if you're gay if that's your problem."
That's when it all came crashing down to what she meant. "What no, I don't like Ranboo like that." He said, blush still visibly bright on his face.
"Do you even know the difference between like and like, like?"
Tubbo went to object to his sister's absurd question but then closed his mouth when he realized he for sure didn't. "No..." He muttered.
"That's what I thought." Tubbo scoffed. "Ok Ms. Know-it-all tell me what the difference is then. Because I'm sure you don't know sh-" Lani started right away. "Do you get nervous for no reason and get all sweaty? Does your face get hot when you're around him?"
"Yeah, I mean, sure. But how do you know the difference?" Lani gave him a blank face. "Tubbo, I'm straight and a girl with money, I've had my pair of crushes." Tubbo didn't know why he thought that was impossible for Lani considering the fact that she does in fact have a social life.
"As I was saying; do you have a strange feeling in your stomach when you guys get close?"
"Uh- I- Yeah...I guess," Tubbo shrugged. "Do you ever find yourself staring at him?" She knew the answer to this; she just needed him to realize. "Yes, that one for sure. But I can appreciate my friend's appearance." Tubbo crossed his arms."Yeah, but you can't do it all the time." Lani said, breaking his confidence in his answer quickly.
The blush that was slowly fading away came right back pretty quickly. "Okay..."
"Do you think of him in any non platonic ways?"
"No, why would I-" He paused himself, rethinking the question. Then he reminded himself of a few days ago. How the raindrops dripped down Ranboo's face and onto his lips. How he took so much notice of it. How he wanted to be closer even when they were only inches apart.
"It was only once or twice and it was because it fit the moment. I just wanted someone and Ranboo was in front of me." Tubbo rushed out.
"Mmmm... That's not always true."
Tubbo thought about that one for a second before Lani spoke up again.
"You want him to touch you. I know you want to be as close to him as fucking possible. That is not a friend thing, that's-"
"Lani, you're being ridiculous! I don't- I'm not-" Tubbo shakily laughed to himself.
"Well then what is it then? Because not once have I cuddled in my bed with just my mate."
"Well maybe that's because you don't have a friendship like me and Ranboo yet? Ever think of that? Maybe I just found my forever best friend. The one that you want to be close with. And you haven't."
"Toby you're in denial! You don't actually believe that? If you really do then consider the fact of how he might feel. Do you see the way he looks at you?!"
"How do you know how he looks at me?" Tubbo shot back which made her quiet for a few seconds.
"Look, I know I don't see everything. I mean, I just met him last night, but that doesn't mean I can't tell how he acts around you. Ranboo likes you more than a friend. You just must be so used to his behavior that you don't see it."
Tubbo, without saying a word walked closer to Lani and grabbed the key off his desk. "I'm gonna go find Phil." He said in a soft voice and brushed past her, leaving the room.
