After finishing his work for the day, Joong made his way to Dunk's florist shop, a sense of anticipation building within him. Upon arrival, he found Adam diligently arranging flowers behind the counter, his attention fully absorbed in his task.
Approaching Adam, Joong leaned in and spoke in a low voice.
Joong: "Hey, Adam. Can you leave a bit early today? I need to have a private conversation with Dunk."
Adam's eyes sparkled with mischief as he glanced up at Joong.
Adam: "Ooh, is Joong finally going to confess his secret crush to Dunk?"
Joong couldn't help but chuckle at Adam's playful teasing.
Joong: "Nothing like that, Adam. It's just business. I need to discuss something important with Dunk."
Adam shrugged, a grin still playing on his lips.
Adam: "Sure thing, Joong. I'll leave you alone, lover boy."
With a playful wink, Adam gathered his belongings and headed for the door, leaving Joong and Dunk alone in the shop.
As Joong watched Adam's retreating figure, a mix of amusement and fondness washed over him. Despite Adam's teasing nature, Joong appreciated the teenager's presence and the lighthearted energy he brought to the shop.
As Adam left the shop, Joong turned his attention to Dunk, ready to broach the topic weighing heavily on his mind. However, before Joong could utter a word, Dunk held up a hand, stopping him in his tracks.
Dunk: "Joong, if you're going to talk about love or relationships, I don't want to hear it. I have enough on my plate as it is."
Joong hesitated, taken aback by Dunk's abrupt dismissal. Despite Dunk's resistance, Joong knew he couldn't keep his feelings bottled up any longer.
Joong: "Dunk, I understand, but this isn't about love or relationships. It's about us. I want to be with you, Dunk. I'm willing to try, despite everything."
Dunk's expression softened, but there was a sadness in his eyes as he shook his head.
Dunk: "Joong, you're still confused. You don't really like me. You're just searching for something to fill the void."
Joong's heart sank at Dunk's words, the truth in them ringing painfully clear. He had hoped that his feelings for Dunk were genuine, but Dunk's insight forced him to confront the uncertainty that had been lingering within him all along.
Joong: "I... I thought I did, Dunk. But maybe you're right. Maybe I'm just searching for something that isn't there."
Dunk reached out, placing a comforting hand on Joong's shoulder.
Dunk: "It's okay, Joong. I understand. But you need to figure things out for yourself before you can commit to anyone else."
With a heavy heart, Joong nodded, knowing that Dunk was right. He had a lot of soul-searching to do before he could truly find the happiness and clarity he sought. As he left the florist shop, Joong couldn't help but feel a sense of loss, but he also felt a glimmer of hope knowing that he had taken a step closer to understanding himself and what he truly wanted in life.
