"Alright. You two stick together, and don't go near any...sewers." Our dad Richie says. "Sewers?" I ask. "Sewers, storm drains, you know anything that-" "Yeah. They're gross and dirty, plus you could get all kinds of diseases from them." Eddie adds. "Okay." Me and Austin walk towards the door. "Be safe!" Eddie calls out. "We will." Austin and I say in unison. "Do you think they know?" Austin asks as we walk down the street. "About what?" "It." "I doubt it." "Did they seem weird?" "They're always like that." "No, I mean more than usual." "Kind of." Emily walks out of the hotel and runs over to us. "Are your parents being weird at all?" "Yeah. See, I told you." Austin says. "Yeah. Weird. Hey, uh, I'm gonna uh...meet Caleb at the arcade. You two have fun." I run off. "No, Y/n-" Austin sighs.

I actually had no intention of meeting with Caleb, but me being the matchmaker I am, couldn't pass up the opportunity to get those two alone. I make my way over to the street of the kissing bridge. The entrance to the barrens was just below it, through the trees. I walk along the side of the road, humming to myself. "Hey! Wait up." I turn around to see Cayden. I roll my eyes and keep walking. "Come on. I mean well." "Sure you do." I say sarcastically. "Have I ever once bugged you?" "No...why is that actually?" Cayden shrugs. "I don't know." "Could you just, leave me alone?" "I'm not that bad, you know?" "Sure you aren't." "You don't know me like you think you do. You just gotta get to know me." "I'm good." "Come on. Just give me a chance. A chance to prove I'm more than just some jerk." I stop walking and face him. "Why would I do that?" "One chance. That's it. After that, I'll buzz off if that's what you want." I sigh.
