"One chance. That's it." I say. Cayden smiles. "Wipe that smile off." "Feisty one, aren't you? I like feisty." "Good for you." Cayden chuckles. "Wanna go to the river?" "So you can see me in my bathing suit? Typical boy." "That's not-" "I'm kidding. Sure." Cayden's smile grows back. "Alright, cool."
"Have you been here yet?" Cayden asks as we walk up a small hill. "No. But my dads have told me all about it." "Those two guys at the arcade?" "Yeah. That's them." We make our way over to the river. There's a singular rope hanging from the left tree and a tire swing hanging from the right. "Should we have stopped for swimsuits?"
"Nah." I run over to the rope, I swing off it and splash into the water. Cayden shrugs and does the same. Cayden swims up from under the water, shaking his head to get the hair out of his face. He was a jerk, that's for sure. But a cute one. "Wanna see who can hold their breath the longest?" He asks. "Yeah." "Alright, ready...go!" We both hold our breaths and go under. After about thirty seconds I could hear Cayden come up from the water as the water made some sort of whoosh noise. He tries to be sneaky and go back under. After five more seconds I come up. He comes up ten seconds later. I splash him. "You're such a cheater!" "What? No I'm not! I won, fair and square," "I heard you come up, liar." Cayden laughs. "Alright, alright. Busted."Cayden and I make our way back to the square, laughing at some stupid joke he made. It was so awful that it was funny. "See. I'm not so bad." "You're right, you're awful." I joke. He laughs and nudges me playfully. "Seriously though, this was fun." "Yeah. It was." "Hey, well I gotta go. But uh, we should do this again sometime?" "Yeah, sure." "Alright, cool. See ya." "Bye." Cayden walks off. I make my way back to the hotel.
