The next day.

Yoongi is sleeping on his abdomen. His phone rings making him flinch—it is Jimin. He reaches for his phone on the table and answers it—he does not notice Mrs Min walk into his bedroom.

Over the phone.

Yoongi: Hello...

Jimin: Ichaya... Good morning.

Yoongi: Mmm... Good morning, baby.

Mrs Min stops walking and stands still listening to Yoongi talk over the phone.

Jimin: Are you still sleeping?

Yoongi: Mmm... What time is it?

Jimin: It's 8 already. Don't you have to go to the church?

Yoongi: Mmm... No one woke me up.

Jimin: Oh...

Yoongi: How come you've called me this early?

Jimin: I just wanted to hear your voice.

Yoongi: Someone seems to be in the mood.

Jimin: I want more chocolate flavour.

Yoongi: Naughty. I wanna see you.

Jimin: Go to the church and pray well. We can meet later.

Yoongi: Don't be cruel.

Jimin: You should get up, Ichaya. You'll be late.

Yoongi: Give me a kiss, baby.

Jimin: Yoongi-Ichaya, come on.

Yoongi: Kiss me. I won't get up otherwise.

Jimin: Mwuah! Happy?

Yoongi: Good boy.

Mrs Min clears her throat. Yoongi flinches and sits upright in a hurry.

Yoongi: I'll talk to you later.

Yoongi hangs up and gulps nervously.

She says, 'Ask him to come home in the evening.'
He asks, 'What? Why?'
She answers, 'I wanna meet him.'
He says, 'Oh... Okay...'
She says, 'Stop flirting and get ready. We gotta go to church.'

He gulps nervously and says, 'Okay...'

She hums faintly and walks out of the room. He sighs heavily and gets up from the bed.

In the evening, Ji-Yoon is sitting on the couch with a long face. Mrs Min is sitting in front of her. Yoongi is standing next to Ji-Yoon.

Yoongi says, 'I'll buy you that book tomorrow. Okay?'
Ji-Yoon says, 'Okay...'
Yoongi says, 'Come on. Cheer up.'

Ji-Yoon hums faintly and the doorbell is heard.

Yoongi says, 'It must be Jimin.' and walks to the door.

Mrs Min and Ji-Yoon stand up. Yoongi opens the door and Jimin walks in.

Jimin smiles a little and says, 'Hello...'

Ji-Yoon says, 'Thanks for coming, Ichaya.'
Jimin says, 'No worries. I'm glad to be invited.'

Mrs Min faces Yoongi's direction and says, 'Park Jimin... Aren't you?'

Yoongi says, 'He's standing a little to your right, Amma.'

Mrs Min quickly faces Jimin's direction and smiles a little.

Jimin walks to Mrs Min and holds her hand as he says, 'Hello, ma'am...'

She says, 'Feel free to call me "Amma".'
He says, 'Okay... Amma.'

She reaches for his face and gently strokes his cheek. He stands still and lets her trace his face.

Yoongi says, 'She's trying to memorise how you look, Jimin.'
Jimin says, 'I know, Ichaya.'

Ji-Yoon smiles a little as she watches Mrs Min trace Jimin's face.

Mrs Min holds Jimin's hands and says, 'Take your seat, dear.'

Yoongi closes the door and walks to the couch. Ji-Yoon sits on the couch and Yoongi sits next to her.

Mrs Min slowly traces the couch and sits on it. Jimin sits next to her.

Mrs Min asks, 'What do you do, Jimin?'
Yoongi says, 'He's doing M. Com.'
Mrs Min says, 'I'm talking to Park Jimin.'
Yoongi says, 'Okay.'

Ji-Yoon pats Yoongi's thigh as she suppresses her giggle.

Jimin says, 'I'm doing M. Com, Amma.'
Mrs Min asks, 'Do you speak Korean?'
Jimin answers, 'No...'
Mrs Min says, 'Yoongi said that you were adopted.'
Jimin says, 'Yes...'
Mrs Min says, 'He told me that your parents are no more. Don't worry. We are a family now.'

Yoongi says, 'Amma, come on.'
Mrs Min asks, 'What?'
Jimin says, 'No, Ichaya. It's fine... I understand her point.'
Ji-Yoon says, 'I never thought my brother would bring home such a handsome brother-in-law.'
Yoongi says, 'Min Ji-Yoon.'

Ji-Yoon chuckles softly in response.

Mrs Min says, 'You gotta have dinner here.'
Jimin says, 'It'll be late, Amma. I took a bus.'
Yoongi says, 'I'll drop you home, baby, I mean, Jimin.'
Ji-Yoon asks, 'Baby? Huh?'
Yoongi says, 'Min Ji-Yoon.'

Jimin chuckles softly in response.

Mrs Min asks, 'What would you like for dinner, Jimin?'
Jimin answers, 'I'm fine with anything, Amma.'
Mrs Min says, 'I'll prepare chicken curry. Yoongi, go buy some chicken.'
Yoongi says, 'All right.'

Jimin says, 'Uh... Can I go with him?'
Mrs Min asks, 'Why? Are we boring?'
Jimin answers, 'No... He seems to sulk...'
Mrs Min asks, 'How about you help me in the kitchen?'
Jimin answers, 'Sure...'

Ji-Yoon says, 'I'll help, too.'
Mrs Min says, 'You have to.'
Ji-Yoon says, 'Aye...'
Yoongi says, 'I'll go buy chicken then.'
Mrs Min says, 'Be quick. Okay?'

Yoongi says, 'Okay...' and stands up.

Mrs Min stands up and Jimin follows her. She says, 'Come on.' and walks into the kitchen. Jimin and Ji-Yoon follow her.

Yoongi asks, 'How much should I buy?'
Mrs Min answers, 'Half a kilogram will do.'
Ji-Yoon asks, 'Just that?'
Mrs Min answers, 'Yes.'

Quite soon, Jimin is chopping the onions. Ji-Yoon is crushing the ginger pieces along with garlic. Mrs Min is peeling the shallots.

Mrs Min asks, 'Jimin, how did you both meet?'

Jimin parts his lips open.

Shortly, Yoongi walks in and places the chicken next to the sink.

Mrs Min says, 'Go buy some beef.'
Yoongi asks, 'What?'
Mrs Min answers, 'Half a kilogram will do.'
Yoongi says, 'Okay.'

Half an hour passes.

Yoongi walks in with beef and keeps it next to the sink.

Mrs Min says, 'Go buy some eggs.'
Yoongi asks, 'Ah, what's with you, Amma?'
Mrs Min says, 'Brat! What's with that question?'
Yoongi says, 'Just cook what you can with whatever you have.'
Mrs Min says, 'You're gonna go buy eggs now.'

Yoongi clicks his tongue and walks out of the kitchen.

Quite soon, Yoongi walks in with eggs and overhears Mrs Min asking, 'How does it work between two men?'

Yoongi exclaims, 'Amma!' and keeps the eggs in their place.

Mrs Min asks, 'Why are you screaming, boy?'
Yoongi asks, 'Is this why you kept sending me to buy this and that?'
Mrs Min answers, 'I wanted to talk to him. He's your... Lover. Why can't I talk to my son's lover?'

Yoongi rolls his eyes in annoyance.

Jimin chuckles softly and says, 'Amma, I'll tell you.'

Yoongi says, 'Baby...'
Jimin says, 'Calm down, Ichaya. I'll handle everything.'
Mrs Min says, 'Look at him. He's being so chill.'

Yoongi smiles awkwardly and walks out of the kitchen.
